Hi everyone!
I’m having some issues with my transfer case just when I put it in 4LOW.
I came to a conclusion that’s an electrical problem because if I use it in all other mode it works perfectly fine and if I uso 4LOW it works mechanically but the dashboard goes crazy like in the video.
My theory is that when I put the lever in 4LOW the cable is too short and it doesn’t make good contact with the sensor.
My lockers works perfectly fine on 4H but once I put the lever in 4LOW they came off each time the dashboard goes crazy.

Does someone had the same problem or know how to solve it?
I have tried to go through some mud and once it was all wet it started to work again…

thank you for the support 🙃🤗

There is no external sensor on the shift cable itself, just the dog ear on the side of the transfer case. So whatever sensor is not reading correct is internal.

There was a case a while back on a diesel that the ecu went crazy when 4Lo was engaged. What motor/trim and are there any CEL codes?

It’s a 2020 JL 2 door rubicon with the 2.2 diesel and just one time with jscan i had the code P1DB6-00 (stored) but when I erased it didn’t come back

There is a position sensor on top of the t-case that tells the Jeep what gear it is in. It could be possible that connection is loose.

Here is a pic on my recently un-installed t-case. I've circled the sensor where the wiring harness connector goes into.

My guess is either the connector needs some contact cleaner on it or the sensor has gone bad.

I recently had a discussion about this and the consensus was that on a Sport wrangler this is just for dashboard purposes so you would be able to run in 4lo without this sensor connector. With a Rubi it gets other info for the lockers/swaybar which is why when you go into 4LO it is having problems.

disclaimer: I'm no expert so someone else may have a better idea and I could be totally wrong.

Tomorrow I’ll try to disconnect it, clean the contact and I let you know if it solves the problem!

Is there a replacement piece for this sensor does anyone have the oem code?
