Since you used a heat gun and then bought the sensor fittings afterward, and based on the cost of the fittings, would you recommend just buying the fittings and avoiding the PITA of using the heat gun to un-thermally mold them?

Ordered the bezels and brackets. Shipping is ridiculous with All Mopar. Paid as much for shipping as the total cost of the small parts. Planning to install on a Go Rhino Rockline full width rear bumper when it arrives next week.

Did the bezels and brackets you ordered work on your metal bumper? Iā€™m about to install my Smittybilt XRC rear bumper and Iā€™m trying to decide how I will be installing my rear sensors.

Yes, for the most part. Yes in that I had a plastic bumper so the bezels used on that bumper are not even something that I consider usable. The only issue is that the precut holes in the GoRhino Rockline donā€™t necessarily fit the Mopar bezels/brackets in terms of indexing to a particular orientation. I made it work and will post some pics tomorrow. Bottom line is that youā€™ll want the bezels aligned in the holes such that they are as vertical/perpendicular to the ground as possible or else your sensors will beep or stay on constantly because they are pointed in a bad direction. Do you need them? If you do not have a Mopar metal bumper to start with then you will need them.

Yes, I need new brackets because I also have the plastic rear Mopar bumper. Hopefully the precut holes on my Smittybilt bumper fit the Mopar bezels and brackets.

On the GoRhino, it looked as though the holes were cut to enable some indexing using the bezels and the way some of them had ridges, cuts, and angles to them, but using that method had my sensors going off on a constant beep instead of on detection and they were pointed down at the ground too much. If you did remove the sensor brackets from the plastic bumper as another forum member said they did further up in this thread, you would probably have to epoxy them to make them stay put, which I believe he did. I suppose removal would only involve applying heat to lift the presses/dimpled portions of the base on the inside. One advantage to using the plastic bumper molded brackets is that they probably lack the angles the metal OEM bracket set has. Every bumper is going to have slightly different angles and I donā€™t see any aftermarket bumper perfectly accommodating the OEM brackets. To minimize your headaches I would just ensure they install as flat a possible and pointed in a neutral way and not favoring up or down angle.

Edit: the GoRhino instructions call for using the OEM bezelsā€”with pics of assembly order (bezel, bracket, sensor).

Sensors on the GoRhino Rockline Full width below.

One issue...the bumper covered the trailer light plug cover. I reused two of the nuts I removed from the OEM plastic bumper to add some space to the bracket housing the trailer plugs. Fixed that this morning.

I had to fuss with mine several times. I even stopped at the dealer and took a picture of the exact direction each one faces. Finally, I was weary of all the false positives, I needed to buy a spare tire relocation bracket and lift my 37" spare considerably higher (I used the Rough Country bracket) and finally all is well now.

I am still tweaking mine. The two center sensors pick up a little low in the center if the ground is very level or slopes up slightly. I need to direct them more upward.
