Swapping Side Steps for Rock rails. Worried about rock chips

Hey all. I have a 2021 Sahara Altitude and im thinking of removing my Factory side steps and putting on Rock rails. I found a good price on RRs. My question is will this cause more rocks to fly up on fenders and body while driving? My fenders are factory white. I figured the side steps stop the rocks due to being so wide. Thanks in advance.

really depends on the rock rails you get some are mounted out wide to be a step and some tuck in tight to the body, but yes less coverage in that area can lead to more rock chipping, you can clear plastic stickers that protect your paint if you want
