What kind of lift?Installed lift, but it had the noise when it's stock suspension.
Kind of sounds like metal scraping on metal. Noise is only coming from the rear? There are no ball joints there.smittybilt.
I have narrowed down to the wheel area.. I will put the axle on a jack stand tomorrow and try again, in this way the wheel does not bear load and it will tell if it's from wheel or the suspension.Kind of sounds like metal scraping on metal. Actually just did. Jack up the rear axle, and press down the rear suspension, it's silent..I have narrowed down to the wheel area.. I will put the axle on a jack stand tomorrow and try again, in this way the wheel does not bear load and it will tell if it's from wheel or the suspension.
It sounds like the control arms, when you jacked up the axle you compressed the arms past the range of the squeak. Spray a bunch of WD 40 on the bushings while you have it jacked up, then jack up the frame to let wheel droop and spray again liberally.Actually just did. Something on the wheel/axle I think...
I will retorque the control arms..There’s nothing at the wheel/hub area that moves on the rear axle from up and down movement of the vehicle.
perhaps the control arms need to be loosened and retightened.
