FORWARD:
The Jeep has been to the dealer to have this issue looked at. I was hearing a clicking noise and a knocking noise coming from the front end. Dealer went over every bolt associated with front end suspension and found that one of the shock bolts was 3/4 turns loose. That stopped one of the sounds but not the other.

When I go over certain speed bumps, the kind which are pretty aggressive, the front end will make a clicking noise. It goes like this... hit the speed bump, front suspension compresses, sometimes the bump stops are hit, the it springs upward (possibly full extension but not certain), makes a clicking sound and then returns to normal position.

The aggravating thing is it does not do it on every bump only the more pronounced ones. I took the Jeep and ran it straight up onto a curb. I could hear the bump stops being hit and then nothing else. So I hit the curb harder causing more compression and recoil and I could hear the clicking.

I've never had a Jeep or a solid front axle vehicle so I don't know if this is normal. It seems odd for a suspension to click when it is on full extension. I have another appointment at the dealer Wednesday. The Mrs. is cranky because I was going to put a lift on it this weekend but I know as soon as I do that they won't even bother looking at it as a warranty issue because I changed the suspension.

Hey Mike,

Are you thinking you'd like to get a second opinion from another location? We can also forward your inquiry to a Case Specialist who'll work with you and the dealer toward a potential solution. Send us a direct message if this is of interest.

Thanks for offering that. Let me have them take one more look. I was able to find a spot next to the dealership where I can get the Jeep to make the noise so at least I can show them what it is doing now and how to replicate it for themselves. If I need to do something after this apt. I will direct message you.

Is this stock suspension or did you add a lift kit? If so, what lift kit? I had the exact same issue when I did my lift and I found the issue to be my aftermarket lift.

The lower driver's side was loose by about a complete turn. While I was tightening it down it made the clicking sound. The spec says 33 ft/lb of torque but I can tell you that isn't enough. I eliminated about 99% of the clicking. I still think I hear one now and again from the passenger side. Going to have this looked at by dealer next time it's in because now I can tell them exactly what is wrong.

So I pick up my jeep from the dealer today manager and tech could hear the noise but cant locate it or know what the noise is. So I contacted FCA and opened a case. There was also some clicking noise when I turned left well they found CV shaft but was loose the upper and lower ball joints were loose and the drivers outer tie rode was also loose. All from factory wow really and now the issue with the engine knock makes me think that they left something loose in the engine

Interesting. I have an update since my last trip to dealer. I found my lower driver's side ball joint loose so I tightened it. I told the dealer and asked them to go over all four ball joints. They did and they also found a tie rod was clicking when they pulled on it as well as the steering arm. Both parts ordered and will be replaced. Steering arm won't be here until end of September.

But our front bumper and winch will be here today!!!!! :)

I get the same clicking. Sounds like it’s coming from the rear. Didn’t really notice it until after the mopar 2” lift was installed. I have 35s as well. I feel like this is going to be an uphill battle with FCA.

Clearly quality control isn’t up to par. Found multiple loose bolts while replacing bumper. ‍♂

Find a better dealer. @JeepCares can help as well. I fixed it myself but then at my next trip to the dealer had them go over it and the Service manager was appreciative I told him how to solve the clicking. I've got a great dealership.

BTW, I think the spec floating around on the forum is 33 ft/lbs (I don't know that that is in Canadian ;) ) but I can tell you that ain't anywhere near what it should be. I said screw it, used my super powers of wrenching on cars for 30 years, and applied the proper amount of torque that made it stop :)
