I took the jeep over from the wife who had been driving it. My MPG is darting back up! lol! wtf!
LMAO! The same thing happens with me too. ANY vehicle the wife drives I can beat her Fuel Economy numbers. But of course back in the 70’s she cut better times Drag Racing due to her better reaction time………Guess what….I’ve not raced in a LONG time! LOL!

She sits in it idling.
I would highly suspect that she drives an automatic with 2 feet. One on the brake and one on the gas. This causes the brakes to wear fast and the fuel mileage to suck.

Lucky to get 14-15 MPG with my 3.6 with eTorque pig on 37" tires and geared to 5.13's at 6,000' daily elevation. Going up higher and it drops significantly. Running 91 vs. 87 or 85 (85 is the same as 87 because of the altitude) has made zero difference. Did not buy it for the MPG.

INTERESTING!
i also picked up my 23 JLUR last week. i am at 11.1 mpg right now driving 90% in the Bronx and Manhattan. tons of red lights, stop signs and just penis taxi drivers.

i am going to give it a week or two more to see what it ultimately averages out to.

There are taxi drivers in NYC that just drive penises around?
;)

I doubt it. The smell and heat from the brakes would be obvious.

The simplest answer is usually correct.

Yes I am. Im not on their much anymore because both of my 2020's 911's where buy backs. So I gave up on Porsche and bought a M3 and a jeep instead. Im happy!

Drove it home with a full tank. We got 245 miles out of it. Filled it up with 17.9 gallons. 245/17.9 = 13.6 which is what the computer said was the average by the time we had emptied the tank.

I filled it up with 91 and reset the mileage and trip. We've put 35-45 miles on it since and its showing 9.9MPG.

Since the computer appears to be accurate, Im left wondering why its using so much gas just putzing around like an old lady.
The 3.6 needs 91?? I didn't think it was a high compression engine that would need the more precise octane.

Jeep recommends 87. I have tried 85-91 and can't find a measurable difference in MPG on the 3.6. I also have had the 3.6 in a 2019 GC with same results. Our 2022 Grand Cherokee L. has the 3.6 and we have tried different grades for a month at a time with zero difference. Maybe it is the altitude, don't know, just my experience. I am always surprised when I hear other owners swearing that boosting the octane is helping with MPG.
