Anyone installed a new Flowmaster Super HP-2 muffler on their JLU? I see Flowmaster has a kit for the JK but nothing for the JL yet. I’ve been thinking about just getting the muffler and doing some custom piping to drop out after the rear axle... just curious if anyone has tackled this yet or wonder if anyone has any sound clips of one on a JL. I can only find sound clips of the JK on the web...

I had the Flowmaster kit on my JKUR, I know the JL is different but I found that, it sounded great on the clips I could find but once I installed it it was terrible in my opinion. Maybe I'm too old but it was too loud and too droney/raspy.....I ended up taking it off and selling it. I guess the point I'm trying to make is try to hear it in real life if you can....the audio online can be very deceiving.

I installed the FM SERIES 10 dual catback on my JKUR and it sounded GREAT, but

That was because of the 10 ft secondary pipes and I left the CATS in--

I'll probably do that on the JL and be sure and mount the muffler close to the main CAT !

Good luck--

I didn't go with FLOWMASTER in my JL 2dr, mainly because of the soft top and the sounds of the exhaust with the top off--so

I went with the DYNOMAX "TURBO" and I'm pretty happy with that-

I'll always support FLOWMASTER THOUGH !

You can never tell what anything sounds like from audio clips.

If you're going with the non-stock option you should keep the resonator in or you'll lose some torque down low no matter how free flowing the exhaust is.

Again, which dyno results have you seen of the Pentastar with non-stock exhausts vs. stock exhaust?
