Sunday project: tailgate table.

Half hour project for a tailgate table on my JL. Small aluminium plate, piano hinge, a bit of hardware including a few magnets and some paracord. Holds our drinks and a dinner plate or two. Have not put any more weight on it, but we will see how it does in the future. Have $35 into it, and most of the was for the aluminium plate. Could not be happier.

If ya knew someone with a small finger brake and could add even 3/8" lips to the front and sides (or even just the front) it'd increase the rigidity exponentially.

I worry about it buckling in the center with much weight on it.

I just installed a Springtail Solutions tailgate table with MOLLE rack and table riser/prep surface in my 2019 Jeep Rubicon. The installation was really easy. I had a quick question for Doc and he responded quickly (great service!). I’m very impressed with the quality of the table (super sturdy and well made). The riser is such a great idea as it shields any MOLLE straps from items you place on the table when it’s open. Now I can’t wait to use it at a tailgate party!

I like that but at $245. ? That's why I made my DIY for less than a 1/5 of that price. Good to know options are out there. I'm sure it's better than mine.

Compared to what you invested in your Jeep, it's a small price to pay for excellent quality, in my opinion.
