First time Jeep owner...so I am sure I have lots of stupid questions....this might be one of them. This summer I purchased an Alien Sun shade and was wondering now that winter is getting closer...if people just leave them on all year or is it better to take them off for the winter? I am inclined to just leave it on but wondering if anyone has a good reason for removing them.

I'm keeping mine on so it can be in place when the top goes down. Probably use it all year, don't get much of a winter in New Orleans.

Why take it off?

I leave my Alien on...I don't see a need to remove it and I prefer to see the red up top rather than the white interior.

*The only stupid question is..."how many quarts?"

I only leave mine on June-August. I prefer top open. I just use the shade when it is uncomfortably hot.

I leave my on all year long. I live in Southern California :sun:, it is a requirement by the wife to have it on if I wanna take the top off. Why would you take it off?

I plan on leaving mine year round. I only have the front half Alien Sunshade. It makes a convenient spot to keep a small emergency blanket during the winter too.

Leave it on all year...the liner and sunshade helps hide the white and looks good

I leave mine on, though I'm just tall enough that my hair barely touched it and annoys me... So Yea, I've considered taking it off during the winter.

I guess I’m the contrarian here. I took mine off. I’m in the Carolinas and we have lots of beautiful days this time of year. It can be slightly cool, so I wanted the full force of the sun. That was my thinking anyway.
