Never been to Mammoth except to snowboard..
Looking to get out on some trails and see some scenic mist sees, preferably more in the Jeep than hiking. Short hikes ok for worthwhile things.

Not quite in Mammoth, but the area around Lake Crowley has a lot of trails. Not super technical, but fun and many lead down to the beach, where you can drive around.

We spent one day just north driving in the Inyo Craters area, mostly in the forest with lots of sandy trails. Part of the next day south of Mammoth going up steep Laurel Lakes Road with its big open views. Beautiful wildflowers in the spring and looks like a lot of colorful aspens in the fall. The hot springs and Lake Crowley on the other side of 395 look interesting but haven’t hit those yet.

Thanks for the ideas. Of course right now they are getting smoked out by a fire. Hopefully things clear up in a week
