Stumbled On A Little Piece of Paradise

What does a guy do when the VA calls and cancels his appointment and he's already half-way to Springfield, MO? He takes the opportunity to go on a leisurely adventure, that's what. It's not even close to a hard trail but I drove down Devereaux Ridge Rd. on Mark Twain National Forest (which is rated a 3 on OnX) to check it out. It has a very pretty little water crossing that I just sat at for a little while. If you haven't been there, check it out sometime. I took a video of the water crossing from both directions. Then, I came across this old rock church on my way off of Devereaux Ridge Rd. Pretty cool.

You're darn right, lol! No way I'm jumping in that water when it's 15 degrees out unless I have insulated waders on. I'm not risking my toes for y'alls benefit, lol.

This, to me, is the whole essence of the Jeep life. You see a track winding off into the distance and take it, knowing your Jeep’s get you there and back, and enabling you to see places most folks never will.

Absolutely. I understand that some people want Jeeps almost as a status symbol of sorts, but that to me is just completely missing/underselling the point of these vehicles, or any off-road purposed vehicle for that matter. These vehicles are to help people see more of the world. They are to help find those peaceful places where the nearest people are miles away, where the only sounds one can hear are the wildlife, waterfalls, and the babbling brooks.
