Strange feeling after lift - is it normal

That seems wrong. You shouldn't feel anymore slop in the drivetrain than when it was stock if everything is on correctly. It is normal to feel the drivetrain engage, but you should have noticed that in stock form.
I don't remember how it felt before installing the lift, but yeah.. I'm not quite sure if this is right..

Rear upper control arm axle side bolt is hidden behind the rotor. Do you know how people usually tighten that bolt?

I’d never had a need for one until I put a lift on.

Rear upper control arm axle side bolt is hidden behind the rotor. Do you know how people usually tighten that bolt?
As I said, I haven't lifted my JL, so no real world experience here. If that's the case I would support the axle (not the frame) on jack stands and pull the rotors.

There could be something wrong with the wheel adjustment or gear box. But you need to consult an expert for this.
