Hey all,
I moved my 2.0T JL back a bit on the driveway so I had more space to wash it today (might as well, it's beautiful and we're stuck home anyway). After I relocated it back to its regular parking space, I heard this weird buzzing noise behind the passenger front fender liner. It stops after a few minutes. I have noticed this once or twice before, under the same circumstances; if I let it run just a short bit to jockey the vehicles around in the driveway and shut it off it makes this noise. If I got on longer trips (grocery store, work, etc) it's fine. FWIW, my wife's with the 3.6 does not make this buzzing sound, and I frequently have to move hers on/off the driveway and back to it's spot to let other vehicles out.

If I recall it's part of the cooling system, trying to find a video referencing the noise. If you listen really closely sometimes you can hear a gurgle too or the movement of fluid through the lines. My 2.0 does the same especially for short trips and or moves. This is completely normal.

EDIT: It's for the 48V battery pack underneath the Jeep if someone can confirm this.

Awesome, thanks for the info! As long as mine isn't the only one making this noise I feel better LOL.

Yup, the 2.0L has three coolant loops.

One for the engine
One for the liquid to air intercooler
One for the BSG lithium battery

The battery loop will run after shutdown at times.

Makes you wonder how much of a pain a coolant flush may end up being.

There's also a coolant pump on the driver side, underneath the 2 coolant overflow tanks and windshield washer tank. Found it when I had to remove the steering gearbox.

I have a brand new 2020 JLU sport with a 2.0 engine. I heard the same sound coming from the engine bay/passenger side. I went underneath and felt the part that was buzzing. The attached photo was the part that was buzzing. What part is this and is it normal?

It's the coolant pump. The 2.0L has 3.

1) Engine coolant.
2) Intercooler system (liquid to air) and cooled throttle
3) 48V battery system

Is yours a 2.0L e-torque with the 48V battery in the back?
