I was able to find a great price on a Sting Grey JLU on Vroom of all places. A pretty good sales experience considering they were 5k lower than a few similarly equipped JLU at dealers in the area. After a snag in them initiating the contacts process, the selection to delivery took about two weeks. And the initial hiccup was likely because I askedti changed vehicles when I saw a StingGrey with 5k less miles plus the LSD and safety package for the same price.
09/25 -- Here's my rig now, bone stock but loving the open air experience now that fall has hit central AZ.
I installed an Alien Sunshade today. Personally I like the sun on my bald head, but the kids love the air and tire of the sun exposure quick. Got to say I love it! Keeps the wind noise down and the fresh air in. I hope it doesn't obstruct the night sky too much.
Working on some superficial mods at the moment. My favorite so far is the cup holder attachment for my oversized water bottles (an AZ requirement!)
I also added some storage organizer for the center console.
I have some 33" Wildpeak AT and Gladiator take offs waiting. Looking to keep a nice clean look, with a chrome delete, so I think the Jeep OEM Mojave wheels will work nice. Fortunate for me they looked really similar to the after market wheels I was going to pull the plug on. Was able to get 4 rims and 5 Wildpeak tires for less than $1K from a solid dude near me who popped 40s on his Gladiator. Glad he let me have them for a great price. Saved me close to 2k, I think.
These will get mounted after my Metalcloak 2.5" True Dual lift is installed next month. I'm looking forward to that Black look. After then I'll take a breath to do some moderate wheeling and look for some rocker armor, front bumper, and recovery gear. Got to get some seat time in the rig on trails to see just how deep I want to get into this #jeeplife. I've never been a camper, but have been watching some Jeepers Overlanding videos and might just have the bug!
Hoping to meet some folks in the area from this forum that are willing to take a rook out for some adventures.
