Are you talking about swapping for stock Rubicon tires? Two questions: will 285/70r17 or 285/75r17 tires fit on my stock wrangler jl sport s wheels (17x7)???? And i’ve heard with 285/70’s i wouldnt need any altercation to the jeep, what about 285/75’s? Would i need fo do anything to the jeep???
No i am buying a new set of tires, i want to make sure they will fit my stock wheels (17x7) and also the fit in the wheel well. Some ppl say i need washers or there may be slight rubbing on full turn, some say 33’s with 285 width will be fine on a stock jeepAre you talking about swapping for stock Rubicon tires?
Thanks!!!! Ok so ill order the 285/70/17’s and be good for awhile. Prob upgrade bumper and then later do the lift and new wheels. Thannks!I believe the rubi and sport s stock wheels are same size at 17x7.5? The 285/70/17 tire's width and height are fine on the sport s without a lift, unless you are going to severely articulate the axles in some serious rock crawling. But I've had mine with axles hitting bump stops and wheels pretty much turned all the way and no rubbing at all. The 285/75/17 add another inch to the tire height, so that might be a little too much, but don't know for sure.
Is this an actual pic of Sport S with 285/70/17's?I believe the rubi and sport s stock wheels are same size at 17x7.5? yes, with the wheels and BFG KO2s from a rubi, and rubi rock rails. no other mods from the stock sport s.Is this an actual pic of Sport S with 285/70/17's?
Thanks!!!! Ugh, seems like i should be going bigger if i dont even have to adjust the tail light!!!!! But im sure the A/T tread and ofcourse getting tires 1.25" taller and 1.5" wider will help the look of the jeep a lot.here's another view. also, no need to move the tail light bracket - these fit (barely) in the space with stock setup. moving it up actually just pushes against the rear wiper and you'll have to mod that to get the wiper to work correctly.
just saw this one with 315s on stock sport s - some mods to fender areas and spare carrier might be needed:Thanks!!!! Wow, maybe i should do 295/70/17.........ive heard such conflicting answers about this. But id be happy with 33.25'' height and 11.61'' wide if i went with 295/70/17.just saw this one with 315s on stock sport s - some mods to fender areas and spare carrier might be needed:

I dont want my sport to have 17x7 and the tires i buy dont fit. I cant find a solid answer online, just says alluminum wheels and talks about rubicon wheel size
Yes, all 17" alloy Wrangler wheels since 2007 have been 7.5" width with +44.45mm offset. They're all identical. The only difference is that the JL Wrangler uses 14mm lug studs now, but all the 2007+ wheels can still fit, and can still all run the same tire sizes. Are you guys positive the Sport S has the sams size wheel as the Rubicon?
