I'm looking for help matching the Sting Gray paint color for a powder coat application. I found this in another forum where they claim the PDN (Sting gray paint code) was matched perfectly:

https://www.hellcat.org/threads/paint-match-powdercoat-colors-available-at-speedlogix.160953/

Has anyone else been successful at matching Sting Gray using powder coating?

I sent a request to speedlogix asking them for the swatch, but have yet to hear back.

Not finding anything that's a close match. I may abandon powder coat and go with a paint match. I am installing Mopar beadlock wheels and the powder coat was intended for the simulated beadlock rings.

I'd just get them paint matched at a body shop.

The paint code is PDN. That might help.

Why not use Speedlogix color mateched powdercoat?

I recommend paint especially for the rings. Paint is much easier to touch up than powder coat. I know my rings are all scratched up and would be a pain had I powder coated them.

Thanks. Rings are currently getting painted. I’ll post some pics when the job is done. Bummer there isn’t a close powder match.

Because I didn't want to ship the rings back and forth across the country. I asked about buying the powder from them, but they never responded to me.

Looks good! How far to the wheels stick out the fenders? Do you have side pics?

Your probably lucky you chose the paint route. Don't get me wrong, I love powder coat. But the problem with powder coat is it doesn't typically have the pearl shift you have with most OEM paints (the way paint changes colors in different light). So even if you picked out a perfect powder coat match with a light gun, there's a good chance it wouldn't match the body color in varying light conditions.
