Yeah, a unibody "Jeep" EV with a starting price of $60,000 is a non-starter with me. I want some of whatever Stellantis is on...

I am sure it will sell, though. People can't get enough overpriced SUVs these days.

"These Days" are coming to an abrupt halt. Vehicles with payments the size of mortgages are doomed to fail.

This would be more impactful to the climate if they *also* had a requirement that all of their dealerships be 100% powered by solar by the end of the decade. Panel the roof, all those little sunshade things, etc.

Yup. But mortgages have to come down first. Which is already happening...

The "100 % of sales in Europe, 50% in US" to be full electric in 10 years is ambitious. I am hoping for conversion kits to retrofit our existing vehicles to EV. Much less wasteful, and affordable, hopefully
This is already a thing, and it's not nearly as expensive as I would have expected it to be: https://www.zerolabs.com/

I've always dreamed of a '69 Stingray and the closer I get to it, the more I'm convinced it would be bad-ass if it was fully electric.

I think the biggest news here is there is a Jeep Recon forum set up. I'm sure the 10s of people on there are really into it.

Maybe they should find out if consumers actually want this stuff before they stake their entire future on it.

And by “they” I mean the entire automotive industry, not just Stellantis.

I’ll never own an electric vehicle. Ever.
EXACTLY! I don't care if there's no gas and I have to fuel my JEEP with whiskey. Or just walk everywhere.

Battery electric vehicles are a niche market that cannot be forced on the masses. It just won't work. If someone WANTS BEV... more 'power' to them. Leave the real vehicles alone for the rest of us.

They’ll offer the lower cost subscription service, don’t worry friend you can have the newest model each year. You’ll own nothing and be happy.
