Can’t really hear noise. But would like to mention they reinstalled wrong bolts for steering gear.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with the new steering gear. Definitely get them to swap out to the new bolts. I would also question if they installed the new I-shaft pinch bolt. This bolt is suppose to be a one time use bolt, anytime removed should be replaced with new according to specs - TSB calls for this as well...

Posts like this are exactly why I'm doing it in my driveway.
1 in 5 dealers refusing TSB.
Techs that do the TSB are leaving loose bolts, or screwing up the job.

1 in 5.... 20% refusing to do the TSB? Where did you get that number? Is it published somewhere or your methodical calculation?

Someone has a poll on this forum...that was the number I saw.

I mentioned this in another thread, but being out of warranty, I upgraded the gear box myself, having ordered from Benny at @AllMoparParts.com. I somewhat cheated and sent the new gearbox (AE version) directly to be ported for a Hydro-assist setup (which is pretty awesome!). There was some question as to whether I needed to get the software update, so I reached out to my contact at the local dealership, and they did recommend the upgrade.

I really didn't feel much of a difference afterwards, maybe a marginal tightening, but that's probably all in my head. Other than noting that the software update reset most of my TazerJL settings (easy to reset stuff, like Gear Ratio, Tire Size, etc.) there was one setting that stood out, albeit, by a small measurement. There was a Steering Calibration setting that was originally at 0.00, but was 0.08 afterwards. They really couldn't explain what the difference in the value was, but it's assumed it may be an increased torque setting, or possibly an adjustment for the centering of the wheel. Anyone know for sure what that is?

As for those having the worsening issue after the swap, I'm really sorry to hear that. Almost immediately after the AE version was released, there was evidently another release (AF?). My understanding is that when the newest box was released the software available to the dealer's service department was updated too. Makes me wonder if the correct version of the software is being installed for the various gear boxes folks are getting. Best of luck to each of you in getting this resolved soon!

PSC big bore fixed my issue. Couldn’t be happier.
I had looked a few weeks ago and only saw a JK box.
How much is it and where did you find it?

I'm curious, is this steering calibration adjustable with the Tazer?

where did you see this ?
It's what I was told by the dealer, because they already had software for it. Haven't seen it yet, but you might connect with Benny at @AllMoparParts.com for any updates.

They had to find the older AE software for mine.

No, it was actually part of the ECU update. The sheet they provided referenced the variances, it just didn't state what they meant.

Just had mine done yesterday, and I am very happy. Steering feels tighter and better feedback. I’m still running stick steering stabilizer. Thinking if I upgrade to the Fox ATS it will be perfect.
