Why would my steering wheel now be slightly to the right to go straight. It’s not centered now or it pulls slightly to left if I try to center it. It drives straight if take hands off. Not alignment.
So if your wheel is off center, pull the Jeep straight into your work area so the tires are straight. Mark the center of your steering wheel by wrapping a piece of painters tape around the center of the wheel. you will then loosen the drag link adjustment collar/sleeve. Once the bolt is loose, you will turn the collar/sleeve and you will see the steering wheel move with each movement of the collar. once it’s centered, tighten the bolt back up and test drive to make sure it’s centered. It may take a few tries to get perfect. How can the steering wheel be centered?
No sorry. That would not fix pulling to the right. So my jeep wanders to the right as I drive with the steering wheel dead center. I got alignment done last week. The jeep still wanders to the right. and thus have to adjust the steering wheel to be slightly to the left while driving so I can go straight. Would fixing the draglink help my wandering issue?
How does this affect the steering wheel when driving? Does it return to the position it was set at after playing with the drag link?No sorry. That would not fix pulling to the right.
