Wondering if anyone knows a fix or workaround on this one. I have both enabled to start automatically in the Settings menu. However, it seems to work only about 25% of the time and I can't figure out what's causing it to sometime work and most of the time fail. For example, if they're off after starting the Jeep and I manually enable heating by pressing both buttons, the heated seats and wheel won't usually be turned on the next time I start it. Every now and then, both will turn on automatically as they should per the Settings options being checked off.

The outside temp as determined by the Jeep has to be under 40. Does that help ya?

If that's the case, then it isn't working properly either. For example, it worked just fine today three starts in a row right after I posted this thread. Two of them were after the Jeep had been sitting in my office garage, where the temp couldn't possibly be lower than high 50's - low 60's. In fact, after I left the Jeep in my driveway during my lunch-break with outdoor temps in the mid 30's, the heaters didn't come on automatically again when I started it.

Be sure to check what the temp readout on your dash says, otherwise it is time to contact your dealership.

I guess I should know definitively by the end of the month when the temps stay consistently under 40 every day.

I can definitively say that it's working as it's supposed to, given the constant below 40 temps recently. Having said that, it would be great if we could either disable the temp cutoff or make that 40F user adjustable in the settings menu. The reason for this is because it's useful to have the heat turn on at higher temps as well.

For example, in late fall when the temps start to drop quite a bit at night, I like to keep the top down and drive with the heater on and windows rolled up. With the seat and steering wheel heaters on, it's warm enough that I don't have to put the top up only to have to open it again the next day. @JeepCares can you please pass on this suggestion to the engineers? ;)

So, I just picked up my new jeep last week. Temps have been around 30-45 degrees. The other day, I got in and started the car, turned on both heated seats and steering and all came on fine. I started down the road in my nice toasty Jeep. An=bout 10 minutes later, I felt the drivers seat getting cols and noticed the heater turned off. I tried several times to turn it on and it would not come back on. I happened to be going to the dealer so I took it into to service to have it looked at. an hour later, they told the vehicle was ready and that they found nothing wrong. Go figure, the seat is working fine now.

Five days later, my wife has the car and tells me the heated steering wheel is not heating but the seats were fine. The only info I could find was fuse location which checked them and they were fine. Any ideas?

Oh, and this has nothing to do with remote start. Just normal driving and operation.

Hey Freiberger,

If the heated seats and/or steering wheel are't always coming on when selected, we would recommend speaking with your dealer again to have this inspected. Typically, in order for proper diagnosis to occur, the dealer will need to replicate the symptoms in service. If you need any assistance working with them on this, please PM us!

Thanks Jennifer. I have an appointment to drop it off at the dealer this Saturday. We'll see what happens.

didnt read anoyones replies but try putting your climate control to AUTO 75deg and leave it on , then try autostarting it. if not sounds like you have an issue. if you have it enabled and its not cold enough outside.

Sometimes (either by remote start or normal start) my heated Steering and Seat doesn't come on...and I know why.
It's because there's an occasional malfunction of the outside temperature reading.
When I start her up, the displayed temperature (when malfunctioning) is usually at about 5 to 8C when it's very obviously between -5 & -25C outside, on any typical day around here lately.
As soon as I start driving the displayed temperature quickly starts to drop to the correct outside value.

I always have Auto Climate enabled at 22.5C.

My heated steering wheel and driver's seat both switch on automatically as the temp is below the 4.4 Celcius default. However I can see anything on my touch screen to see where I can turn this off.

The user manual says it's the Comfort settings on the touch screen. I've looked everywhere but can't see it for looking. According to. one source, its the Auto Comfort control listed in Settings ... but its not in the settings that I have!

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a manual and no remote start, FCA has decided that we do not see this menu settings.
I doubt that they will ever fix that.

I've noticed that when I start the vehicle first thing in the morning the dash thermometer is correct, but when I go and re-start on my lunch break the reading is way out (e.g. reading +12 degrees C when I know the outside temp is still below zero). The dash temperature reading starts to tick down to the correct value within a few seconds of setting off which suggests to me that the false reading must be due to residual warmth in the engine bay.

It's not a massive flaw, but it does mean the automatic heating settings don't kick in unless the engine bay is completely cooled off when you start the motor. I started another thread on the subject but got zero replies which I took as unanimous snowflake dismissal :) so I'm glad to see this post and know that it's not just me.

Guess we're just going to have to summon the huge amount of effort it takes to push a button on the dash ;)
