I've been seriously looking into upgrading some steering components to eliminate some of the road wandering present with my JL rubicon. I have seen both the track bar replaced: and a full tie rod, drag link and steering stabilizer replacement: both videos available on the [Banned Site] channel. Now for regular road use, which would be more effective in limiting "steering wandering".

The videos mentioned are:
Tie rod and drag link replacement

Track bar replacement

Thanks,

First of all. Steering wander and death wobble are two different issues caused by different components or factors.

If you just want to talk death wobble.

Steering Stabilizer -> Trackbar -> Draglink -> Tie rod
In this order of most important to least in terms of reducing death wobble.

Trackbar may also help with vehicle wander(loose steering wheel) if torqued incorrectly or if bushing is loose or worn. Steering box may also be at fault here.

So in most cases if you replace SS and Trackbar you have a good chance of fixing both the death wobble and steering wander.

Above all else though, make sure your tires are inflated correctly (not over 36psi) and alignment is bang on before you start replacing steering components.
