❗JL Steering TSB & Synergy Steering Brace❗

I had a chance today to work on my first JL four-door with a synergy steering box brace installed. Customer came to me in Minnesota all the way from Texas because dealers weren’t willing to work with him down there. I I can 100% confirm that the synergy brace will work with the new steering gear. Honestly you would not have to remove the steering box brace to take it in for the TSB. Literally took me five minutes longer to do the TSB procedure with the brace installed then without. While I had the adapter piece removed to do the TSB I noticed that the brass insert had spun on this customers synergy brace so I removed it and realigned the holes and applied Loctite to it. Happy to say that everything worked in conjunction with each other and the jeep drives dramatically different.

My dealer has said no-go so will have to remove the brace, go back in for the steering fix, then brace back on. Good times.

its literally 5 min more work
Thanks, got it done today without the brace installed and all went well.

Question being I am going to undo the 4 new black bolts to put the brace back on and re-install. Are they also 99 ft/lbs of torque like the older bolts or some other value?

Thanks for the help on this.

Whats the second set of #'s? All 4 bolts the same or do the front 2 get higher torque as they were longer originally?

I don’t get the degrees?
That’s how far past the click of the torque wrench, like 180 degrees would be another half a turn. I don’t pay much attention to that, I torque everything until my shoulder clicks then check it, that’s anywhere from 50 to 75 foot pounds depending on if I’m having a good or bad day.....:)

Then your shoulders were playing a tune torquing the LCAs

I torque until the bolt breaks. Then I put in a new bolt and torque it less.
