This is a stupid question, but one I can’t find an answer to.

I’m ready to do the simple install of a Fox TS steering stabilizer, and it looks like a super-simple drop–in replacement.

Do I have to lift the front end before doing the work?

I don’t have the best work area for doing this - I’m in an apartment with covered parking with a low ceiling. It all looks like it’s accessible with the tires on the ground, but I’m concerned whether there’s some kind of load on the stabilizer that‘ll make it tough to put the new one in.

You can do it it on the ground but it would be easier off the ground where you can easily turn the wheels and line everything up conveniently. It's like installing a shock. It might take a little elbow grease to compress the piston to line up the bolt holes. Even if you get caught in a worst case scenario and can't install the new SS, you can drive the Jeep without a steering stabilizer.

Go for it.

Yep, you can do it on the ground. I’ve installed a couple. Hardest part for me was just getting down and up off the ground but I’m getting old and lazy.
