**UPDATE** I was able to get the work done at Mac Haik CDJR in Houston. It was about a 3 month wait for the parts, but the new steering box is finally installed, and the Jeep drives much better now. Even on a windy day, the Jeep drives down the highway without walking all over the place like it used to.Dealer Name: AutoNation CDJR
City, State: Katy, TX
Date Taken In (for evaluation, not specifically to do the work): 9/2/2020
Date Completed: N/A
Did you buy your Jeep from this dealer: Yes/No
Your Jeep has suspension/tire modifications: Yes/No
Dealer disputed the TSB (didnāt want to do or said did not apply, etc.): Yes/No Dealer claimed that they took the jeep for a test drive and found no issues, yet there was only 1 mile added to the odometer while in their possession. Also claimed that the TSB had been cancelled. Told me I should take the vehicle down the street to the local 4WD shop to have dual steering stabilizers installed.
How likely is it you would recommend this dealerās service department to a friend/colleague? 0 to 10 score 0 - would never recommend this dealer. I went there only because it is the closest one to me.

After 9 days at the dealership they denied my request for any steering related repairs due to the wheel spacers.
Final update to the post. Took about 5 months to get the new box. In the meantime, Jeep has lost a life long customer. Selling my JLUR in the next month or so.I will update this as time goes by...

- 09/08: Was told the box was ordered and it could be up to 6 weeks.
- Update 09/24: called and they said they havenāt received any yet and that I could still be another 5-6 weeks.
- Update 09/28: spoke with Jeepcares about what a reasonable time frame is and what could be done to expedite and was told:
- Update 10/01: Called to talk to the service advisor (Daniel R). Hug up and redialed after waiting on hold for 22 minutes. Called back and the call rolled over to other departments 3 times. Gave up and called back 30 minutes later. Was told by the service advisor was on another call and they would call me back when off the call. An hour later I got a call back saying it's by 10 weeks. That's on top of the 3.5 I've already waited. Damn, Jeep service sucks.
- Update Oct 16, 2020: called the worthlessership and was told it could be an additional 2 months. Yeah, Iām going to start getting noisy about this.
- Update Oct 30, 2020: NOTHING. Called the worthlessership. and was told they've not recieved any parts and it could be another 8 weeks. @JeepCares still doesn't care.
- Update Jan 20, 2021: Finally got the new box in (one week of the delay was due to my schedule). Fixed the problem and the steering is nice and tight the way a new $50k vehicle should be. Not a fan of Jeep service... this thing has soured me to the vehicle and I'm getting ready to sell it and convert a Provan Tiger GT to 4x4.
Your Jeep has suspension/tire modifications: None other than on JTR wheels instead of the original JLUR
Dealer disputed the TSB (didnāt want to do or said did not apply, etc.): Nope, on the way to the dealership I took a video of the dead spot and thereās pretty much no arguing that itās completely unreasonable. They had the jeep for 2 days and agreed it is eligible.
How likely is it you would recommend this dealerās service department to a friend/colleague? Setting up the appointment was a very poor experience, but once I was there the agent was great... this was likely due to me getting cranky when I asked for them to confirm their notes (since I'd be dropping it off after hours). They reread the notes from the prior service and couldn't tell me why it was being brought it (after taking 10 minutes to describe the issue the first time).
Hi!
Reading through the forum messages it is evident that we are not being supported in a consistent manner by the numerous dealerships, with respect to TSB 08-074-20. I thought that I would start a survey to help capture the good and the bad dealerships so that we can figure out where to take our JLs. I donāt think that a normal forum survey will work very well for this information, so just provide your response and Iāll build a spreadsheet that I can update on a regular basis (once a day or so).

I gave a score of 5 because they will have a chance to make it right when I call them tomorrow. I didn't get any resistance to them doing the work. I scheduled the repair date with them and they had a courtesy vehicle for me that morning. They did not complete the repair the same day (apparently they broke the steering wheel clocking spring while replacing the steering box ) so they had to order more parts. They called me today said it was ready. I picked it up at closing time and drove home. Looked at the box and they PUT THE WRONG STEERING BOX ON. They actually put an AE box on it. The steering feels about the same maybe a little better, but the outdoor temperature is cooler today.
I was driving today after the steering box install last week in 35+ mph gusts and she drives great with very little effort. So much better than before and compared to others mine was probably pretty good. Glad you got it resolved. Jeep should withhold vehicles from terrible dealers until they want to sell the rights to another dealer.**UPDATE** I was able to get the work done at Mac Haik CDJR in Houston.
