I actually contacted @JeepCares and they contacted the dealership. They ordered the parts and I have an appointment with them this Thursday. I’ll update once it’s done.
Who was the person at JeepCares you dealt with? Darline just me to talk to the dealer and there's nothing they can do.

I will update this as time goes by...

Dealer Name: Autonation Jeep West
City, State: Denver/Golden, Co
Date Taken In (for evaluation, not specifically to do the work): 9/8
Date Completed:
  • 09/08: Was told the box was ordered and it could be up to 6 weeks.
  • Update 09/24: called and they said they haven’t received any yet and that I could still be another 5-6 weeks.
  • Update 09/28: spoke with Jeepcares about what a reasonable time frame is and what could be done to expedite and was told:
  • Update 10/01: Called to talk to the service advisor (Daniel R). Hug up and redialed after waiting on hold for 22 minutes. Called back and the call rolled over to other departments 3 times. Gave up and called back 30 minutes later. Was told by the service advisor was on another call and they would call me back when off the call. An hour later I got a call back saying it's by 10 weeks. That's on top of the 3.5 I've already waited. Damn, Jeep service sucks.
  • Update 10/16: called the worthlessership and was told it could be an additional 2 months. Yeah, I’m going to start getting noisy about this.
  • Update 10/30: NOTHING. Called the worthlessership. and was told they've not recieved any parts and it could be another 8 weeks. @JeepCares still doesn't care.
Did you buy your Jeep from this dealer: No
Your Jeep has suspension/tire modifications: None other than on JTR wheels instead of the original JLUR
Dealer disputed the TSB (didn’t want to do or said did not apply, etc.): Nope, on the way to the dealership I took a video of the dead spot and there’s pretty much no arguing that it’s completely unreasonable. They had the jeep for 2 days and agreed it is eligible.
How likely is it you would recommend this dealer’s service department to a friend/colleague? Setting up the appointment was a very poor experience, but once I was there the agent was great... this was likely due to me getting cranky when I asked for them to confirm their notes (since I'd be dropping it off after hours). They reread the notes from the prior service and couldn't tell me why it was being brought it (after taking 10 minutes to describe the issue the first time).
Updated my original post. 53 days and counting, no resolution. Called the dealer and they said it's likely be another 8 weeks before the part comes back in stock. @JeepCares still doesn't care.

Anyone else on this thread had to wait over 50 days to get a part after the dealership confirms it's needed?

My rig is on day 9 sitting at the dealer and not even a wrench has been turned let alone any parts ordered. I’ve spoken to the dealer and Jeep Cares multiple times a day since it’s been there. My case got elevated to the case manager (Jennifer) and then her supervisor (Keith) and they both promise to call and sweat their families lives that they’ll get a resolution “today” or the latest tomorrow and absolutely nothing happens. Literally nothing.

Edit: Update from Tuttle Click Irvine, they denied any fix for any of the steering related issues due to wheel spacers. They also falsely noted that I have after market wheels and tires. Wrong!!!! The first week I bought I put a set of 33" Firestone MT's on the stock/factory black MOAB wheels. Last time I checked the Moab wheels that came from the factory are not after market wheels! They also falsly noted the wrong size spacers. They are 1 5/8" not 2". Anyway, it dawned on me as I picked up my Jeep....not one of the cars on their lot has any aftermarket parts on it, so I'm guessing that's their philosophy in sales and service at Tuttle Click Irvine. I've attached the service sheet for your viewing:

I also saw one of the @RebelOffRoad rigs in the service line....I wonder if they'll be denied service due to their infinite amount of aftermarket stuff!

Just got off the phone with a Jeep Wave specialist. Apparently dealers used to be able to order one box per week. Now it's been pushed pack to one box every 3 weeks. @JeepCares still doesn't care.

I'm having the same experience at this dealership. I brought mine in 9/30 and they told me it would be 4-6 weeks and they would call me. I called yesterday since this dealership will say it will call you when the parts come in but you will literally never hear from them again. After 28 minutes of being on hold and bouncing around departments I finally got through to a service advisor and they told me it's now 4-6 weeks again. Considering you're nearly a month ahead of me I'm thinking mine will be done in 2021...

Also worth noting is there's another forum member here who brought his in to this dealership mid-September and has already has had his replaced. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ontinued-punkn-jlr.11524/page-26#post-1283318

I stated the Jeep wandered at highway speeds during hot summer drives. It’s a little better now that the temps have dropped here now. Before I brought it in to the dealer, I removed my Fuel wheels and BFG KO2 35s and put the stock Rubicon wheels and tires back on. I printed out the TSB and had a copy on the drivers seat for the tech to review during the evaluation. The service advisor stated that my JLUR needs the steering gear replaced and the software flash. Have to wait to order parts (est 2-3 weeks). I expected that. I will report back when the repairs are complete.

ETA: The dealer completed the TSB today. They initially wanted to charge me 2 hrs of shop labor to remove and reinstall the Mishimoto Catch Can that I had added about 2000 miles ago. I complained and stated that it I will want to witness those two hours of work they are charging me for. I also stated that it only took me 30 minutes to install. And that I was taking my time doing it, surely an experienced tech can do it faster than me. In reality, it just needed to have the few screws holding it on the mounting plate removed and shifted out of the way. An hour later, the service advisor called me back and said he researched it and discussed it with management and decided they wouldn't charge me. They also failed to make any attempt at washing the spilled power steering fluid off of the undercarriage. It was a mess under there. I told them my expectation was it be returned to me in the same or better condition than when I dropped it off. It was spotless when I dropped it off. They took it back into the wash bay and made an attempt at washing the oil off. They installed the correct steering box, replaced all the screws and flashed the software. The steering wheel is also about 20 degrees off center. Ugh... I'll take care of that myself this weekend...
I updated my original post now that the TSB was completed today. On my short drive home, the steering feels better. I'm a little annoyed at the dealer for a few things I described above, but overall it was an Ok experience at this dealership. They did try and address the things I noted above but I am not sure I would go back for other work. I try and do as much maintenance and repairs myself, but for this issue it was no question the dealer's responsibility.

Called my dealer after a month without any updates whatsoever and they passed the buck to FCA. Indicated they can only order 1 rack at a time, which includes ordering, waiting on the part from FCA, install, and warranty/TSB claim closure by FCA before they can order another rack. The guy wouldn't give me a guesstimate on how long it takes to order and install, much less claim closure, so I have no idea how long it takes to take care of each vehicle. That, and the guy wouldn't even bother looking up my place in line and simply said "the parts department will give you a call when they have your part" and left it at that.

Between the complete disinterest in keeping customers informed about an important TSB like this and the 6 quart oil change and 4-tire rotation (despite specifically requesting a 5-tire rotation at drop-off), Jeep service is the worst I've ever experienced so far (I've owned and factory serviced a Pontiac, Toyota, Subaru, and Mazda). That includes the monumental f-up that Subaru did cross-threading the drain plug on my wife's Forester that required R&R'ing the oil pan - not a small job on the turbo 2.0L - and they fixed it within a week and kept us informed every single day on progress.

I messaged @JeepCares but I don't know what all they can do. Seems like FCA doens't have the parts supply to fix this in a reasonable time frame and they're not communicating with dealers. Or my dealer just doesn't really care. Either way, I'm not happy I'm looking at another winter with crappy steering.

Took my 2020 JLUR in and the service advisor was aware of the TSB and said he would let the parts and service manager know my vehicle needed the TSB preformed. Asked for a time frame for parts and was told to contact parts and service manager.
I contacted him, and was told I was 27th on the list and they are allocated one kit a week... So about six months!
Was even told to maybe go to another “smaller” dealer as FCA doesn’t care that the larger dealers have more service customers...
Not happy at all about the situation.

I worked with a lady named Michelle. She called the dealership and I received a text stating that the district manager approved my repair. They texted me on the 20th and parts were there the 28th. Had it installed a couple of days later. Drives so much better. They did get me to pay for an alignment but I didn’t mind. They did discount it to $70. Overall @JeepCares helped me out big time.

On my side I asked for the change of my case by the famous new "AA", the dealer did his job and after verification they put an "AE".

It's scandalous!

I am waiting for their answer to my question and it is possible that I will look at the legal level what to do (unfortunately where I live we don't have your famous "lemon law").

Took mine to Irvine Tuttle. My Jeep wanders more than it ever did before and dead spot is bigger. :(

On Nov 11th, I took my 2018 JLUS to Prestige Jeep in Longmont, CO. I have the following mods:
- Rancho 3.5” lift with geometry correction brackets
- 35” tires - no spacers
- Falcon Steering stabilizer

They called me back that day to tell me that the tie rod was EXTREMELY loose and they were ordering me a new one. Two days later my jeep is still there as we wait on the part. I’ve got another vehicle so I’m OK with waiting. I’m just wondering, if the tie rod is loose, can’t you just tighten it? Anyways, I’m hoping this corrects everything. The steering was so loose that I felt it was dangerous to drive.

Side note, I’m planning on trading in my Jeep. I was seriously considering the Bronco but if this steering issue is properly sorted I’m going to reconsider and look at a Rubicon diesel.

Not sure if anyone can corroborate but I stopped by Westgate CJDR in Raleigh to get a status update. The service manager told me that FCA has opened up ordering for the parts to where the dealers can place orders for each VIN without waiting once every [X] days. That being said, they do not have an ETA on when the orders will be filled. After signing up on Oct. 24th, I am still 15th in line overall but specifically 6th for JLUs.

well...I was just told yesterday that the AA steering box is being re-engineered and that all orders have been cancelled and dealers would have to reorder them. Apparently, I was told that they had the steering box in and ready to install while my Jeep was in the body shop for the hinge corrosion issue, which took 3 weeks. Then yesterday, when it came in from body shop, FCA told them to wait on the install and for me to keep the loaner for another week or so until the newly designed steering box was shipped out. Has anyone else heard about this?

Perhaps that’s why the dealer near me put in orders for everyone who was on the wait list? Do the 2021s have the redesigned aluminum ones? Perhaps they just increased production on those and are sending them out.
