Don't want to slam the local dealer just yet but they are bucking the TSB. Had the Jeep all day Friday and are going to keep it today. Stated their tech could not find anything wrong. I contacted @JeepCares last night through PM on this site but have not heard back from them.

Any other way to contact @JeepCares ?

Did you buy your Jeep from this dealer: No
Your Jeep has suspension/tire modifications: Yes. 3.5" Metalcloak Gamechanger and 38x13.50's. Nothing is stock in the steering and suspension systems.
Dealer disputed the TSB (didn’t want to do or said did not apply, etc.): They were hesitant at first, due to the extent of my modifications. I'm far more modified than they're used to seeing, so they were concerned about the box fixing my issue.
How likely is it you would recommend this dealer’s service department to a friend/colleague? 0 to 10 score Definite 10. After a calm and straightforward talk with both the service manager and writer, they agreed to order the parts. After about a dozen failed attempts at other long Island dealers, Empire was the only ones to not give the knee jerk reactions: Its a jeep thing, they all do that, would did you drive before this jeep?, etc. They really showed a genuine concern towards helping customers that would benefit from this fix. They just prefer to give a quick check to make sure that it will be the fix thats needed.

I hope this works out! I was told that the part is being restricted (from @JeepCares ) and that I’m the 3rd person on the waiting list at my dealership with no ETA (I’ve been waiting 2 weeks already though) on when the part will arrive.

So, I find it amazing that you were told your part would arrive next week. Please update us on your status when you are able!
Update:
The part arrived earlier than a week--it took about 4 days. The dealer contacted me and I went the next day and they installed it without any issues, flashed my computer to work with it and it was all ready in about 6 hours.

I have not had the chance to drive high speed on the highway yet--but in town driving, the steering feels a lot smoother, the bumps feel less prominent and it appears like the turning radius of the steering has improved. Those are my first impressions...

The dealer did not charge my anything for the upgrade -- it was all part of warranty work.

Dealer disputed the TSB (didn’t want to do or said did not apply, etc.): Yes - at first. I argued that the steering box is before the modifications and so the pull to the left and the loose steering happens before. I also pointed out that the first time I brought the Jeep in for repair after purchase was for steering issues and all they did was an alignment. I also pointed out that the lower control arm from teraflex was placed to fix the steering issues. Back and forth, finnaly the manager OKed the work to be performed since the Jeep was still under warranty.

How likely is it you would recommend this dealer’s service department to a friend/colleague? Right now, a 3. Up until this issue, it would have been a 7-8. They have been dragging their feet on a cold steering issue since last year, also. Hopefully both will be taken care of by this. Edit to add: afternoon of 10/12/2020 Dealer is going ahead with repair. Parts will be ordered and once in, installed.

Hey Joe, has this ever been completed? I also have 37's along with the synergy steering bracket and I'm wondering if they would see that as an issue.

How likely is it you would recommend this dealer’s service department to a friend/colleague? 10, I highly recommend this dealership's service department.

Comments: I go to this dealer because of a specific mechanic (Mr. Gomez) that I've known since 2005. He's worked on my vehicles and my parents' vehicles, does quality work and is honest about what needs to be replaced and what does not. I emailed the Service Advisor/Manager (Mr. Hernandez) about the TSB. He asked if my Jeep was still within the warranty and I gave him my VIN (for the mileage). Once he confirmed that it was within warranty, he told me to bring it in that day. I waited for a couple of hours while Mr. Gomez performed my oil change and for a notification about whether or not I would receive the TSB repair (the service area was PACKED with vehicles!). They told me that they ordered the parts and that my Jeep was approved for it. I am currently waiting on the parts to arrive as I was told there is a 10 business-day eta on receiving them. I'll update yall as soon as they come in. :like:
*UPDATE*
- Contacted FCA rep, via the Jeep Owner login chat (2 weeks ago). A case was opened for me, as I asked when I would receive an ETA on when the parts would be sent to me. I received a Case # and was told I would be contacted soon after for a follow-up.
- a week later, no follow-up, so I contacted @JeepCares on this forum and inquired about my case #. I was informed it was closed without any action taking place. So JeepCares opened up a new case # for me and I was contacted 2 days later (on Friday). I wasn't able to answer the call as I was busy but I received a voice mail indicating to call back. I called back today and was told that my parts were delivered to the dealership last week. I contacted my Service writer and my mechanic via text and gave them both my case #. My mechanic checked with parts and confirmed my parts were delivered. He texted me and told me to bring it in and drop it off and that he would have it ready for me tomorrow.

I hope to reply and let you know that it was done.

THANK YOU @JeepCares...you truly are amazing at trying to help us!

Nice to hear you're getting it fixed Tai, you've had to wait longer than most, but the wait will be worth it!

Yes! I'm glad they got here just in time! I still have a couple of weeks left in October to take some vacation. I wanted to get it done before I started to do a lot of driving.

I brought my '19 JL 2dr (with 7,500 miles) in for this TSB this morning. Had the TSB printed and explained about loose steering ,wandering etc. I got a call 2 hrs later saying they need to perform an alignment on my vehicle because the steering wheel is slightly off before they can evaluate to see if I even qualify for the TSB. I said... so you want me to spend money on something that is not necessary in order for you to then tell me I do not qualify ? So pissed......

We certainly understand your frustration. If you would like, please send us a private message so we can get you connected with a Case Specialist to work with you and your dealer.

FINAL UPDATE: Went to the dealership (Mac Haik CDJR, Katy) early and sat in the lobby while I worked. Jeep was finished by 2:20pm. Yall.....you MUST get this TSB repair done. The Jeep drives nothing like before. The steering wheel is taut/tight...like I gotta put some effort into turning it. It made me realize just how loose my steering was. I was driving 78mph and removed my hand and the steering wheel didn't move, and there was no wandering LOL! I was like YASSSSSS!!!! I legit can rest my arm on my door and one hand the steering with NO PLAY on the wheel.

I typically drive with one arm rested on the door and my left hand on the wheel but my hand would constantly be moving, even while going straight; any little bump and I'd have to adjust. With this upgrade....NO SIR. NO movement, NO adjustment. Yall gotta get this done!

10/10 experience for the dealership (Mr. Hernandez & Mr. Gomez): Oh and the dealership washed and waxed my Jeep. Love my guys!

10/10 experience for Jeep Cares: They are diligent in helping

5/10 experience for FCA regarding these parts: They need to get it together...and release these parts often. There should be absolutely no restriction as I believe this should be a recall. Every jeep with an aluminum steering box needs this upgrade and it should be mandatory, regardless of lifts or tires, etc. The jeeps should've been fitted with a steel box from the jump.

Until then I have a 2020 JLUR that I don't feel safe driving to and from Chemotherapy! So I am taking an Uber...

I had it completed last week. Not a word said about the 37s and 3.5in lift. The Jeep drives like a completely different vehicle now. I did buy it there so I’m not sure if that helped.
