I’m not sure about part numbers, but this is everything that was added. The caster angle was adjusted to 5.5 degrees and all other settings were set to within spec. It now drives like a truck with zero wander and is super tight.

Hello -

These are all aftermarket and not MOPAR - do you know what that does to your warranty?
Did you buy the parts and Jeep reimburse?

thanks again,

Jeep won’t reimburse you for those. Some have gotten a reimbursement for the steering stabilizer because it was a recall.

As for warranty, if you want your dealer to fix your steering, take it in stock first, otherwise they won’t know how to diagnose it.

I took mine in stock before adding aftermarket parts to try to fix it. My dealer has been more helpful than most and replaced the steering box despite my aftermarket parts. Most I’ve read about are not so lucky.

If you haven’t already, get the Jeep in for service before doing anything to it.

No, the dealer bought them and installed them. They all have their own manufacturer warranties for the individual parts and the vehicle warranty is unaffected by using after market. The only parts not warranted by the vehicle warranty are those that were replaced, and honestly the individual part warranties are better than the 3/36 from FCA.

I'm a new jeep owner, I have have a 2019 JLU, wondering, loose steering, sketchy on highway, I have been watching the forum for any solid results in the remediation of this problem, both jeep cares and nemerious dealers in Florida refuse to address the problem, what gives ? With all the modern technology we have today it appears to be an allusive problem. If anyone has found a dealer that will address the problem correctly let me know.

Naples Jeep has been helpful. So far I’ve had an alignment done with the recommended “toe in” settings, updated track bar, updated steering damper, updated drag link and updated steering gear box. All of these contributed to improving the steering. My steering is not great, but much better than it was before.

Jeep knows about the problem and are currently playing dumb toward customers. They're probably well aware that the new Steering Boxes & Electric assist pumps are the problem, but they don't want to acknowledge it because of the cost & time of swapping out new gear boxes & electric assist steering units for all of the defective vehicles. Be persistent. Keep bringing the Jeep back to the dealer until it's fixed. Log all of your service visits, conversations, phone calls, etc.

So I have reached out to JeepCares (Thanks Alex) to see what next steps are for my 2020 JLUR. In the meantime, continuing to do research on PSC solution. Have gotten contacts at PSC as well as a locak 4x4 shop that is a dealer. I just want to avoid another $3k on my Jeep if at all possible.

Interesting morning in Central PA. 17F when I left for my 40 mile commute to work. There is a definite difference in the steering play in cold weather. Not sure if it is just that the cold has the tires down 3-4lbs, or something else. First 15miles or so was really good, but then it progressively returned to normal play.

same experience. Cold is good for steering; bad for radio. Tight like previous JK in the cold.

Same for me. I makes sense why the steering lockup complaints are starting again. This aluminum housing gearbox does not seem properly engineered for thermal expansion and tolerances. I really wonder if anyone with any play in the wheel has ever had a lockup issues or vice-versa.

I also think the fluid viscosity has a bit to do with it because I can notice the slop in the steering is still there (but less when cold) but the play is more vague feeling. The pump is all the way on the other side of the engine bay on long lines run across to the gearbox. When moving in cold weather I imagine the fluid entering the gearbox is cooled off.
