I had the recall work done and now I notice my steering wants to veer slightly to the right while driving. I'm not sure if what they did had any impact on alignment or why I now notice this change.
Hi digirati,

I’m very sorry to hear of the trouble you are now experiencing with your Wrangler. Given your situation, I would like to have this documented and escalate a case to one of our case specialists for further assistance. Please follow up with me via PM if this would be of interest.

I just got this email after I submitted the reimbursement for the rc stabilizer. I guess they are going to pick and choose who gets a reimbursement? Sounds like I'm getting the run around already. I already submitted the documents and receipts so why would I have to do it all over again?

Dear Nicholas,

I can certainly understand that it would be very frustrating for you if you were having an issue with the steering in your vehicle and paid for a part to try to remedy the concern. We can certainly look into this further for you.

There is an open recall on your for vehicle for the following that needs to be completed at your Chrysler/Jeep dealership free of charge to you. V41 - Steering Damper - parts are available to have the recall completed. Recall letter are going out this month.

I am escalating your case to our document verification team for them to review in regard to possible reimbursement. You will be getting an email that will provide to you information on the documentation that needs to be submitted for consideration.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Sincerely
Brenda

I tried scheduling the v41 today and got a note back that parts are not available, and I could go on the waiting list.
Since my steering issue was escalated up the tech support chain I wanted to get it in ASAP so they could begin working on that issue. But since the part is not available I offered to make it two trips. My guess is I’ll just have to wait it out. I did however send a copy of their email to the rep at Jeep I’m working thru with a note to see if he can get the part over to my dealership. I also suggested they look into the Fox item since others have received it in lieu of the Mopar item.

I think I’ve become a real pain to them since they don’t even return my phone calls anymore.

Not getting this fix done reminds me of the people living in trailer parks that refuse to leave when a hurricane is forecast...

"It ain't broke till...." sounds really silly in the light of the company that makes your car telling you what you have is prone to problems.

Some people are just apprehensive about messing with something that is working properly and then having to go back and try to fix it .

Like the person who reported they didn't have steering wheel shimmy wobble until they got the new V41 steering stabilizer?
I get it, but it’s a legal issue that in the event of an accident due to a wobble Jeep simply claims
there was a recall, the owner elected to ignore it and FCA is exonerated from liability’s due to the owners neglect.

I had my V41 done last week. Received recall in mail and called dealer that day and was told bring it in next day. I went in the next day requested to watch mechanic install and perform TSB for loud fan. All was done correctly. The mechanic told me that parts department received V41 kits that week for every VIN sold by that dealer to be in stock for recalls.

This dealer has consistently been pretty honest in the past, however I believe
that they really could care less about fixing the problem.
It’s too bad that dealers generate most their income on service, since other than warranty
work I will never give them my business

Hopefully my Jeep tech rep can light a fire under the situation

Worried they will mess things up, YES THEY WILL, good decision. I got a recall to have a weld joint inspected. I had checked it out earlier and it looks great. Can you imagine your jeep dealership doing a weld on your vehicle, when they can't even change the oil correctly. If worried, go to a certified weld shop in your area and have them check it out.
My local dealer wouldn’t even do my weld repair. I had to wait over 2 weeks for FCA to fly in a certified welder.

Some local dealers can’t install the new V41 steering stabilizer in the right direction even with a label on the it pointing to the front of the vehicle or look up in the manual that the JL takes 5 quarts of oil not 6, so I wouldn’t trust the dealer to do something complex like welding. So I’d be glad they flew in someone to do welding.

They install the stock stabilizer backwards, if they install it properly it won't fit because of the rock guard. welcome to Fiat.

Doesn't make sense. They are replacing them correctly on vehicles all the time. It was posted that one dealer put it on upside down - bonehead mistake but it was a mistake not a conspiracy. We all get from your three posts that you do not like FCA.

There's no such thing as upside down on a steering damper, but there is backwards. The way they install it the cylinder does the pushing rather than the rod putting undue force on the damper. Furthermore, that was my first post COWBOY!
