Should I take this in for the recall fix if I'm running a dual stabilizer?
I wouldn't unless you want them replaced with a stock stabilizer instead. i also wouldn't be surprised if they charged you to do it as yours is no longer stock

You can file for reimbursement since you fixed it yourself. At least that's what my paper says:like:
Hmmm..does it have to be a stock part or can I file for reimbursement for after market RC stabilizer? I haven't got the recall notice yet in the mail. Is it only certain wranglers ?

I think I'm gonna pass on trying to get reimbursed for the aftermarket part. My luck they will void my warranty lol

I dropped mine off today for the recall. I have has slightly loose steering since I purchased in early 2018. The service adviser said he has done about 10 of them so far, and everyone has a positive response after the repair, saying it did help. The adviser also said that the Rubicons have more steering issues than non Rubicon models due to more aggressive tires and suspension geometry.

Edit: I will report back later today or tomorrow when it's done.

I don't have any issues but getting it done nonetheless. Dealer has it on order (5-10 days) and will get my noisy passenger seat (hopefully) resolved during the same visit.

I got the letter yesterday. I also plan to have it done, I've had some mild to moderate shaking hitting expansion joints on the highway, so hopefully this will mitigate. But my real reason for going in is I want them to do the fan tech bulletin at the same time, and I've been looking for an excuse to make an appointment for that.

I had my V41 recall done Thursday and didnā€™t notice any difference. I do have steering issuesā€”wandering and looseness.

Thanks Laura. My dealer, Wickstrom Jeep in Barrington, has been fantastic so far so I don't anticipate any issues.

Do we know the difference in the part they are replacing? Is it a stiffer damper, was the prior one just defective?
Prior stabilizer was apparently somewhat ineffective at times. The design was the problem... They're using the same manufacturer.

All I can say is check to make sure it's installed correctly.
