Steering damper recall notice today on my Jeep

My dealer put me on a wait list for this recall. They said they only get a certain number of parts, and can’t order them for me. Does this sound right?

Mine said they'd order the part and call me when it came in.

Got the recall notice today, called dealer and they're not sure when the parts will arrive. Luckily mine steers great so I'm not in a hurry for the dealer to put it in upside down, then I'll be having to put it in the right way, so not a big deal waiting for this

I got the notice yesterday and already called to schedule. The steering is horrible on these vehicles, you have to be honest with yourself it is horrible especially on the highway. Hoping this fix makes it better as I am close to dumping this thing, it unreal.

I'm 100% honest w/ myself, mine steers great!

Be sure to check the orientation of your new steering stabilizer after the dealership installs it. Even though there is an arrow on a label on the steering stabilizer pointing in which direction to install it, several people have reported their dealership put it on backwards. The instructions even says it can cause damage putting it on backwards, then the dealership is just flipping it in the correct direction even though they should be replacing it.

I had my V41 recall done Thursday and didn’t notice any difference. I do have steering issues—wandering and looseness.

Did it fix the wandering and/or looseness afterwards?

Especially if you have upgraded to bigger tires........do yourself and your jeep a favor and get better shocks and a better steering stabilizer anyway. Change them yourself if you want if done right. It's only a few bolts.

Me 3, appointment set up for tomorrow.
I don't seem to have a problem, but feel it is best to do incase something down the road happens.

Most likely what people are saying here is true, the wobble from the steering, which has been an issue. There are some upgrades you can do if the recall does not take care if it, like the Fox stabilizer or Steer Smarts.
