68507574AA is the part number for my new steel TSB box. 4 door diesel. I want to add hydro assist but don’t want to be down without the jeep. So I’m looking at sending them a diff box. What would be the diff in sending them gas motor boxes or a box off a 2 door etc etc.

As far as I'm aware, all boxes are the same. It's the software package that accompanies it that varies between 2 and 4 doors.

I seem to recall reading somewhere on one of the TSB threads the gear ratio was different from 2dr - 4dr - Diesel. let me see if i can find that part number chart somewhere. I will post here.

edit - found it. It mentions gear ratio by each type.

I know when I read it didn’t think there was a difference either. Not sure what all goes into hydro assist setup but they may be able to utilize any gear box. Not sure.

@EcoDRubi if you swapped in a 4-door non-diesel version, it's probably close enough to not feel a difference. You'll notice the difference with a 2-door steering box though. My JL is 5 turns lock-to-lock, whereas my wife's JLU is a little over 4 turns.
