I came across this idea online in another forum. This is an easy way to install and remove the roof top tent on the jeep by myself. I'm awaiting delivery of a Joseph Baroud Explorer hard shell tent in a few weeks which weighs 145 lbs.

    - galvanized steel "sleeve" tube 32" long, 1.75" in diameter that is set in concrete in the ground
    - galvanized steel tube 13' long, 1.5" in diameter that slips into the "sleeve" tube in the ground. easily removable
    - bought a hoist "L" bracket that can hold 1300 lbs
    - bought the winch from Harbor Freight- lifts over 600 lbs

i added some water in my garage bin that weighed over 200 lbs to test it out. The steel pole had a slight bend in it given the height but lifted the trash bin no problem.

all in cost about $300. Should easily be able to lift 145 lbs with no problem.
