You guys are getting some of the coldest weather I can recall. When I was a kid in eastern MT in the early 60s, it would get to -30F most years. Way before anyone spoke about "wind chill factor".

If I had to live there, I'd be using a block heater, oil pan heater and battery heater. I saw a Youtube vid where even synthetics didn't like that cold. Royal Purple didn't do well, Mobil1 came out on top.

Just checked it, it's -15 out and -39 with wind chill. Oil temp was -9 to start and coolant was 0.
thanks, that sounds about right, we are getting down to 5 degrees in Maryland tonight which is really cold for this area...

-28F, this AM, glad to finally have Off Road Pages working. Oil pressure started right up at normal. It took about 10 minutes and 5 miles for the Auto Trans temp to get up to normal. I typically don't waste gas by letting it idle...just slow acceleration and moderate speeds until everything is up and running.

I am wearing shorts out here in California. A nice 65 degrees out and sunny. Bahaaahaha

But, for the trade-off, I do have to deal with shitty liberal folk.
I will take the cold-at least it goes away in a little while.

Nearly got frostbite this morning because it was too cold for the heated steering wheel to turn on even after about a 15 min remote start warmup. Seeing that I was reaching well under half a tank now, I figured I better go refill. Finding a gas station to fill up at around 6am was not easy, about half the gas stations had their pumps off overnight. (Greater Chicagoland)

Should have put some gloves on BEFORE getting out of the Jeep. My hands froze in minutes and luckily after refilling the steering wheel started to heat again. I’m still defrosting.

-26 here this am. Temps like this make me miss the days of the full service service station.

Out of High School in Ohio, I worked at a station with full serve pumps. Of course the full serve was the farthest lane from the store. And it was days like this that EVERYONE wanted full serve.

They made us check oil and wash windows to, you know how quick your fingers freeze when you start getting washer fluid on them (assuming the washer fluid wasn't an ice block yet) :)

Even worse was morning shift and having to go de-ice the car wash. hot water or not, you got cold over spray on you.

I’ve only ever experienced the full service pumps out at a project site in NJ last year, however, I finally can agree with this being a reason I would appreciate it for once!!

A gas station in Chicago at Clark and Lasalle still offers full service. Last I saw it was about $5-$6 a gallon for premium.

Thanks for the link. Mobil 1 is what I usually use. I always knew synthetic oils flowed better but the video is a real eye opener. Anyone running tradition oil in freezing temps is killing their engines with every cold start.

A perfect example of why I will definitely order the optional external heater cord on my 2021 Gladiator Diesel!

I live in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan,Canada.Last night the temperature dipped to -43 with no wind.My Rubicon and the wife 's 2018 Sahara both started and then she had to drive 45 miles to work in Regina. We've had six Jeep wranglers now and have had good luck with them up here.
