So, I had a little scare today...went to do the paperwork and the dealer raised my price an additional $2,850. Showed him the original paperwork and email quote and he said he would adjust and honor the price. The Dealer just opened the new showroom in Dallas and I was the first customer in there. The GM came and when he was introduced to me he said, so your the one I have been raising Hell about you getting your Jeep for 4 months. I told him the story of email FCA CEO. He just shook his head. He said my Jeep was at the Rail yard and they are trying to get it to the Dealership...he hoped it would be there Friday or Saturday....told him not to rush I couldn't pick it up until next week. So we are planning on a Tuesday delivery. Oh, and the new computers wouldn't print so we couldn't finish the paperwork.

Awesome experience! I high recommend giving Classic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT.

So, I found out there was a manufacturing issue that caused the EGR issue...there apparently was a wire that was not installed correctly and it wasn't just related to diesels.

Im hoping my dealer doesnt try to pull some nonsense on me.. One issue I have is I lost my Tread lightly paper work I signed up back in september before i ordered and now cant find it:headbang:

FYI I think the 12 digit affiliate control number expires Jan 2 of every year! Sounds like you’ll need a new one!

Now my JLURD has a 2 inch lift, 37/11.50/17’s on AEV Borah Beadlock Wheels. The lift is a spacer lift. $400 from AEV. The diesel is like 450 pounds heavier than the gas engine. A spring lift would have the wrong spring rates. I don’t have too much of a problem with spacer lifts because the preserve the original ride. I’m sure a lot of y’all have been in a spring lifted vehicle and it rides like a log truck. Wrong spring rate. The lift kit that I got had shock spacers. I didn’t want that at first, but AEV said the original Rubi shock were better than most shocks in a lift kit. That was enough for me to agree to the shock spacers.

The AEV Borah Beadlock Wheels was competing with the Mopar Beadlock wheels for my $. The borah was cheaper and look dang good. I ordered The borah without the Beadlock rings (for now). Beadlocks add $145. The borah can be ran as a traditional bead seat wheel. The wheels tuck under the so that edge of the tread is slightly outside the fender flares. BFG KO2’s are approved by AEV for use as with the beadlock (when I go beadlock). Pix attached.

More on the wheels later.

Now tank sets 80” to the top of the soft top roof. I included a pix, but I think the rod was pointing slightly down to 79”. Common core math tells me to round up. So 80”.

Driving impressions.
By the seat of the pants, not much changed. Plenty of torque. Similar ride, similar handling. The TPMS says 39 - 40 psi. Think I may lower the pressure to 36. Also, no scrubbing.

Where it did change was getting out of the Jeep. That’s a long way down. A step is needed. I’m 5’11” and need a step to keep from sliding out of the seat. My wife is 5’3”. She really needs a step. Rock Slide Engineering power steps are on order. $1799.

From a distance the Jeep looks proportional now. When you get up close, you realize it is a big vehicle. Right now really happy with the mod.

Back to the wheels.
I was putting the plastic screws in the threaded beadlock holes to keep the threads clean. 24 screws per wheel, $5 per set. I saw a line just outside the center cap. I touched it. Nooo. The paint flaked off the aluminum wheel about a 1/4” by one inch long. Damn. I didn’t even get to enjoy them 3 hours. Hopefully AEV fixes it.

I’m liking the mod a little less now.

Like to hear the mod stories from y’all.

Greg

Why were some installed correctly and others not? Not sure if I believe that.

She’s home now! It was so worth the long wait, just hang in there guys. The power is so satisfying. Now onto throwing on a 3.5 in Game Changer lift and 37 in Nitto Ridge Grapplers or Cooper STT’s.

Looks great. Have you been up to Boone to Rubitrux? Great place to check out how different setups will look.

Are you going to wait until they R&D a diesel or are you just going with what they got now? I bought the 2.5'' last week and decided for them to hold my order until they get their hands on one first. They couldn't guarantee fitment

I would be more inclined to think the cooler itself has wiring that is the problem, and some of the bad ones made it thru production before they caught them = so those Jeeps go to holding until the replacements come in.
Might would also explain the 'clogged EGR' report from the other thread -

Update my status to cancelled. I found a 3.6 I’ll settle for. Disappointed but I’m saving so much time not checking for a window sticker every hour.

I actually haven’t been there yet. But thanks for the heads up! I’ve been looking for a good shop in the area for all my future work.

I jumped the gun too early and ordered my lift before thinking about the possibility that they’d have to redesign. Luckily MC customer service is amazing and they offered to swap the springs once they R&D. So I’m just waiting on that.
