Yeah I don't know what's under those shrink wrap tubes, at first glance I though they were some sort of caps. I am probably wrong and the caps are on the speaker maybe?
It's just wire under the shrink wrap. Here's the base speakers, the small one has a bass blocking cap and the bigger one doesn't.

Makes sense now.

I am actually working on a possible solution for Alpine System owners to get full range output this weekend. I will share if it is a success.

It was a success! I had cut 2" holes in my SSV kits for the tweeters with my original setup of components. After the components didn't work out I bought a set of JL Audio C2-650X co-axials and a new SSV kit without holes. These were hooked up to the mid/high plug, and never really sounded great due to them not getting a full range signal. Then I got these guys to mount in the 2" holes in my old SSV kit. Hooked up the woofer plug to these and the mid/high plug to the JLs and now have a much better sounding full range setup in the rear. The sensitivity is 4dB lower on the 2" woofers so it's not perfect, but much better than without them. I'll try to snap some pics but it is pretty straightforward

Question to this group. 2019 JLUR with 7" base sound system.

Looking at putting JL Audio C1-650 component speakers in the sound bar housed in a set of Select Increments JLJT-Pods.

My question... Can I connect the woofer plug to the 6.5" speaker and the mid/high plug to the component tweeters and get decent sound? Is that what everyone has been doing when replacing sound bar speakers?

Overboosted's post above seems to states that he wired his opposite of what I am asking... mid/high to the 6.5 coaxial speakers and woofer to the smaller driver.

Putting JBL Club 622 6.5" speakers in the dash kick panels and JBL Club 322F speakers up on top of the dash.

At some point I'll pay someone to amplify it all, and add a powered sub.

So how much sound are you getting out of those 2” drivers. What I have found is that “woofer” channel in the soundbar is almost nonexistent. Went back to her Jeep (same system) and it was the same. Considering this route.

I did the Select Increments JLJT-Pods with Alpine S-S65C and the Alpine KTE-S65G Grills. My newly ordered JL Unlimited Rubicon Recon included the alpine upgraded stereo system so I wanted to keep the speakers you could see alpine for now. I cut the speaker pods in my 21 Jeep Wrangler JL Willys and installed Kicker KS 6x9s but did not want to cut the 22 Wrangler. This setup requires no cutting and everything can be ordered from Crutchfield. I would advise using the included crossovers even though the Alpine upgraded system has factory crossovers built into the factory soundbar wiring and alpine amp setup.

How do they sound? Did you replace the front speakers with components also?

The tweeters had to much power until I used the crossover that came with them and then they sounded great. I did replace the dash 3.5" speakers also with Kicker KS 1" Tweeters. Next is to replace the lower dash speakers with Kicker KSC670 or get another set of Alpine S-S65C and put the tweeter in the 3.5" location and 6.5" in the lower dash using the Metra JP1014 JL Speaker Pods.

Regarding bridging the wires in the soundbar on the base system - this is a quote from the JLJT Pods installation manual for the base system:

"Before we start... for both #28-JLJT-E and #29-JLJT-K: On the next page,
you’ll only connect to the slightly larger plugs the factory 4” woofers used on each side of the sound bar. There is no need to
connect anything to the plugs for the smaller factory tweeters on each side. Those plugs will simply tuck back in their alcoves and
remain disconnected. Why? The 4” woofers are 4-ohm and have the full sound spectrum in the wires. The smaller factory
tweeters are 8-ohm and also have the full sound spectrum in the wires, BUT... each side of the sound bar is wired in parallel, so
you’ll send all the power to the new larger speakers instead of splitting it, and get the best sound and the highest volume levels. "

That is what I did with my 6.5" JBL Club 622 (coaxial) and I have not had any issues with volume or sound quality.
