I'd like to know if a JLU owner with say 2,000 miles+ has this issue. Perhaps it is something that will stop after serpentine belt is broken in a bit.
Over 2k on mine, haven't heard it again lately. It was very quick and rare. I believe it's a new belt /break in issue. And not a big deal. However if it was constant that might be a different story....

The advisor said I had my equalizer improperly tuned, but I feel like the speakers should work fine at any volume or tune
Just picked up mine from the dealer after insisting the one speaker shouldn't sound any different from the others, they replaced the speaker in question and it sounds fine now.

Is this in the wrong thread?

@ 2k and I still have it most of the time. It varies from none to pretty loud. It never seems to happen on completely warm start. I will likely see what happens over the next 1k and then have it looked at.

If it's that consistent, I'd have someone start it while you record the sound on the outside. We'd get a much better idea of what it is that way.

I hate dealing with the dealer service department!
I think the startup sounds like an air tool or my 24v impact more than a belt squeal. Could it be the new beefed up starter that has a different noise we aren’t used to?

I agree Dynomite1371!
My local dealer offers a free lifetime power train warranty if you get all maintainence work done at their department. I am willing to forgo that just because I don’t trust them to be anything but the slimey rats that everyone says they are
I will do maintanence on my Jeep and barring any catastrophic failures plan to never return to that dealership for service. However, 49 miles away in a small rural town there is a Jeep dealer who has excellent service reviews.
The reviews for the local Jeep dealers service department are so bad it’s actually comical. Here’s my favorites:
1. Put white door panel on a red Jeep Grand Cherokee
2. Multiple stripped oil pan bolts that resulted in new oil pan and days without a car
3. Stained seats that the techs denied doing but there was a dash cam turned around in the car SMH

Looks like that AAA membership is going to payoff if I have to tow to the next dealership.

I had this noise on my 2017 Grand Cherokee, I took the car in and they said they didn't know and couldn't reproduce the squeal. I ended up selling it and getting the rubicon.

Yeah, same here. I still hear it randomly at times. The dealer still doesn't know what it is.

I have a Rubicon that does exactly as everyone describes. It will squeal on startup after it’s been sitting for about 30 mins or so. Never have noticed it doing it on the first start of the day. It always seems to be subsequent starts after sitting for 30 mins. Sometimes sounds like a belt but other times it sounds different. Any updates on this issue?

Oh I am sure fiat really is only gonna fix stuff that is broke, this occurs randomly on mine . Why bust there balls over it? Guessing theres excess clearance on a bushing on the starter drive , chattering or squealing . Remember folks,it's a dodge at heart, some of these things are going to happen.
