We got a cabin Friday night in Marble Falls so 10am won't be a problem. Gives us time to forage for food even. Don't have one for Saturday though so probably need to be on the road around 4pm. I imagine that will be plenty of time.

I'd love to meet up, but have other plans those weekends....thanks for the heads up on the new badge of honor trail in Texas! Just got back from off road park in Arkansas last week and scored 3 additional badges...

10 am sounds good to me. I'll keep an eye out here for the final decided meet up point.

I’d like to jump in on the 4/3 trip but my wife questioned if we would be under equipped to keep up with you guys. We didn’t do any trails rated higher than 2 (as far as I know) and we would both hate to be “that guy” that keeps y’all from doing trails you want. Thoughts?
I'm in a stock Rubicon (no lift and 33s) and I've been able to do Levels 1-3 there without any damage or scares. Only had one section of a level 2 that I couldn't manage because some rain the previous week had created a big channel and there weren't enough rocks around to fill it in.

If I can make it out there we can hang on the 1-3s if other folks feel the need to hit the 4s.

I plan on making it a day trip on Saturday, so 10 am should be fine. Meet up at the new Air Up/Down location by the restaurant?

Scott
This seems as good a place as any. If you see a grey jeep with red wheels rolling around like they're lost - wave me down ; )

Our previous park experience at Hot Springs ORV park left us a bit leery of trail ratings (the “easiest trail” ended up requiring the winch). So when we got here we told the guy we didn’t want to beat up the Jeep and needed to drive home.
I found the Gaia App has most of the HF trails on it. And it works with CarPlay (if you're on iOS). The first time I went there I struggled with the lack of clear trail identification too. Using Gaia made it a lot easier to explore. Works well for "let's go see what's over there!" followed by, "oh, hell no I'm not trying that in my daily driver; how do I get back to the safer stuff?!"

I've also used Gaia on my computer to plan drives at HF. Makes traversing the same ol' trails a lot more interesting when you can plot a route to mix them up and cross over to other trails in the middle of them.

Anybody using radios? If so what kind.
All we have are a couple of family band walkies.

I’m looking forward to my first trip to HF in a couple of weeks. Are there any gpx downloads for the trails at HF?
