Hey guys, I was in Moab (8/7/19) last week with a Jeep group and I ran into something interesting while we were filling up with gas in the morning before heading out. I didn't think much of it when 2 JL's and a JT pulled into the station until I noticed the manufacturer plates which caught my eye. And then if that wasn't enough, watching all three fill up with diesel really caught my attention. I couldn't resist asking one of the guys what was up and he shyly told me that they were heat/vibration testing the Ecodiesel engine's in them. He said things were going well but he didn't say anything more and I didn't want to intrude and ask any more questions. Here's two quick pictures I snapped on my way out.

Hang in there guys the diesel is coming! Here's the proof!

Doc... Duh.
That’s cool you got to see them and chat.

That said the fact they are still testing them goes to show it’s not just the epa we are waiting for. The design itself is still being tested for basic functionality suggesting it’s not ready for final production.

If it was just the epa they’d be done testing and making batches of these things so when the epa gives the green light they are ready to go. They aren’t. They are still testing. Which to me means that they are still working on the design. Fall my arse. I wouldn’t be surprised if either
1. They are delayed for the 2021 model (and might not even make that)
OR
2. They scrap it. Maybe for whatever reason, epa, overheating, reliability, etc they just can’t get it to work and they scrap it in the US.

I sure hope they dont leave it like those. The tubing and exhaust took like they will be ripped out, with the first rock or branch they encounter.

The exposed hose on the White Rubi concerns me, but I assume it won't be so exposed on a final production model... Hopefully.

Also the LEDs on that YJ!!! I wonder how many people have been blinded by that! lol

In the U.K. the green pipe is petrol/gas...black is for diesel. Is that different in the US?
