oh nice... Cerakote is holding nice so far but if im not satisfied ill defenetly use that product seems good....
Just bought a new 2020 JL..Bought the Cerakote and was wondering if I should wait to apply it to the bumpers/plastic parts or put a coat on now. What are your thoughts? The fade is my number one concern on my JL..

I am also curious if this could/should be done prophylactically.

I used car guys plastic restorer on my 2015 jk sport fenders, door handles...everything that was gray plastic (Arizona sun is tough) and they look great and they're black again...best part is no greasy residue.

There are so many brand new ones for sale cheap on Craigslist, why bother with trying to fix the one you have?

I used Mother’s Back to Black. No real reason. It was just at the auto store so I tried it. It does what it says it does. I don’t know if it’s bad for the plastic or anything like that though.

I bought this stuff in March 2020 when I bought my Jeep.

https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-D17...6&sr=1-1-d01e9ad5-8e09-4677-b55f-4e34dc8a8df9

It's expensive at $54. I paid $37. I have over half left still. I use it on the plastic parts and rubber around the windows and it works great and last a decent amount. Only needs to be applied maybe once a month or so. I also use it on the sides of the tires and it gets rid of that brown discoloration that happens sometimes. Shines them up really nice.

I think it's water based so a better option than others. I have 303 also but haven't used it yet so ce that hyper dressing works very well.

Found this thread during a search for something else and wanted to offer this in case it hasn’t been mentioned or the OP still needs a solution.

I’ve used this product on my Jeeps with pretty decent results that lasted a while. Much better than any of the “restorer” products I’ve used.
