Are your wheels the stock Sport 17x7.5, and if not, what are they? Are you using a spare tire relocation bracket, and if so, which one? Also, how is your tailgate holding up (it doesn’t look reinforced)?
Jeff, thank you! The Wrangler in the picture is not mine but has all the same mods.

Tailgate is holding up very well - no tire relocation bracket needed, simply raise the height of the brake light using the hardware that’s already there with the reinforced tailgate, up to a 35” will fit. Below are the part numbers:

Thanks brother! I already have the Mopar tailgate reinforcement kit; it came with my Jeep. It’s just that I’ve been told by a number of folks that I will not be able to fit a 35 on there without a relocation bracket.

Is that rim the OEM one that comes on the Sport?

Should of commented before when I posted but I can throw my hat in the ring for twisted splines on D44 rear axle with 37s. It was driven hard by PO and it wound up having about a 3/4 of a spline twist put into the splines. The only reason we saw it was because we pulled the shafts to work on a locker issue. I took the opportunity to upgrade to Dana chromoly shafts.
If it can happen to a D44 it certainly can happen to the D30 and D35 under the right conditions but knowing is half the battle :)

What did the chromoly run you? I'm thinking of either installing 44s or upgrading the shafts and trusting the axle.

What type of load is twisting the shafts? Sometimes going up solid stone obstacles i'll do a 4low
burn out because i'm worried about the impact of carrying speed to bumping it over.

Maybe that may be higher risk than momentum and bouncing it up.

There really isn't any way to know your limitations unless you go beyond them.

Don't forget the gearing issues. If you are running stock Sport gears you will notice a bit of a strain on the Jeep. It will work, but you will lose some power and braking.

You can get them for $180 per side on Northridge using the jlwranglerforums code. Initially I was going to rebuild the shafts because of damaged seal on the outer edge and to have a shop press on all new Dana components it was over $200 so it was a real no brainer and stupid simple to remove old and install new.

EDIT: That's for D44 shafts. I'm referring to my Rubi which had the twisted D44 splines. My wife's Sahara has been turned into a Sahricon with D44 axles and Rubi t-case but those axles are still factory.
