Searched the threads and see all kinds of different sizes and combinations but not sure I found the right answer.

I have a 2019 2Dr Sport S and have an opportunity to buy take off 2020 Rubicon tires (tires only) for super cheap (50.00 per tire) with Less than 2k miles. They are the 285/70 17 BF KO2s.

I know they will mount on my stock Sport S rims but my concern is, will they rub or have any issues once installed? Stock and no lift at the moment. Same one selling tires will also sell me take off suspension when he does the 2” Mopar lift and 35’s. The lift Is another question for later (would be a 4dr Rubicon 2.0 and steel bumper model).

If I delay the lift (or not do it at all) will I have issues with the tires on my stock rims? I see most are full rims and tires from take off swaps.

Thanks

Light off road trails, nothing too difficult with keeping relatively stock. I may do the Rubi take-offs eventually. I read that thread and recall seeing it previously but my local dealer also mentioned I would need spacers to use those tires. However, as you said and other threads, it seems I’ll be good to go. Once installed I’ll see what the speedo error is and decide on getting a Tazer or similar device to program.

Thanks.

I have run those tires on my Sport S rims (the granite ones) both stock and with a rubicon take-off suspension. Including off-road. You will have no problem.

You won't have any issues with those tires on stock rims.

I am running 285/75R17 tires on my stock JLU with the stock Moab wheels (17x7.5) and they do not rub anywhere.

The 280/70R17 tires are 1.4" smaller in diameter, 0.2" narrower and a 4.4" smaller circumference than the tires I am running.

Thanks all for the replies. Looks like I’ll have the tires and suspension mid-April. Looking at 500.00 for all 5 Rubicon tires (less than 2k miles) and all take-off Rubicon suspension components, to include the Mopar suspension box (not sure if that matters).

Forgot to also ask if I would need spacers? I have the tires and suspension in my garage. Now to start with the tires once I get time to get them mounted. Putting them up against the stock tires, it definitely shows a good size difference.

Spacers or no spacers?

Thanks.

You may have to trim the rubber stoppers that sit behind the spare, but otherwise you should be good. I just had K02s put on last week, 2dr Sport S, all good.

I don’t know how guys get the 285/75 spare on, the clearance to my bumper is very tight.

Sweet deal! Glad it worked out!
If you have a 2dr you'll get more lift vs the 4dr so if you install them I'd also get those longer Mopar lift LCAs, my install for those in in post #4 of that link I posted previously.

With the tires being 11.2” vs 9.6” (calculated on a tire calculator comparison) what issues will I have with spacing as shown on the pics attached? This the rear driver side view.

Seems like it might be super close and/or even hit that piece I circled.

Don't forget that 1.6" difference in width is really divided in half, because half is on one side of the rim, and half is on the other side. It's a shade over 3/4" inch inboard and outboard.

I'm running the 285/70s on Rubicon wheels, which have the same offset as OEM Sport wheels. Haven't had any rubbing issues with that size, even offroad. Enjoy the new setup!
