Sport - Largest tire with bumper connects

Hello all,

First time Wrangler owner with a question. I’d like to put 285/70/17s and aftermarket 17x9 wheels (-12 offset) on a stock JL sport. No lift planned. My concern is rubbing on the bumper connects as I don’t want to remove them. Would this work or should I try a smaller tire? If so, what size tire would be recommended? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Edit: forgot to mention, my driving will be almost 100% pavement with an occasional trip to the beach or light trail.

I had this same setup on my JK 2 door and it fit without a lift. I don't think that much should have changed from jk to the jl. I could be wrong. I recently just got the JLU and i'm wondering how that same setup would look with a lift under it.
