The 392 isn't going anywhere.
I just wanted to post about the 5.7 b/c I've read a handful of posts where people were discussing rumors about the 5.7 being made an option for 2022.
That isn't happening.
This was a baseless rumor that was conjured up out of thin air.

Also, odds that your local dealer has any idea what they are talking about when it comes to Wrangler futures is somewhere between 0 and 5%.

I need to win the lottery, so I can get a 392, before Jeep does something stupid, like Ford did with the Raptor, it can out with the V8 and then went to the 6, lost me with that move!
Raptor R is being released next year with a Supercharged V8.

I will believe it when I see it.

Ford is the master of "leaking" out remors that never materialize.

The 6.4L is already offered; it’s the 392.

Is that hood scoop functional? I ask because I know the horizonal vent pieces on the preceding Rubicon hood are fake.

If air is pulled in through the forward-facing scoop, I wonder how water ingress would be managed.

They have to be making a killing on the 392
FCA and now Stellantis is making bank on every Wrangler they build. What I paid for my modestly configured Sport would have purchased a very well-optioned CR-V or Ridgeline, to use examples of what we've owned or currently own.

They have to be making a killing on the 392, I think they will sell it until the government kills it with mileage constraints.
Or the manufacturing dies and machines wear out and Stellantis will not invest in any more tooling for the 392 which unfortunately, is made south of the border.

.........Specifically asked if he could confirm whether the 5.7 would be offered, like many have speculated. After a couple of days, he got back to me and said with certainty that Jeep will not offer the 5.7 in any of the models for '22.
Take that fwiw.
It also seems like we can expect the standard 2% price increase.
+2%? I’ll make a bet it’s +10%. Costs for everything have skyrocketed. Jeep ain’t gonna eat all those costs.

Yeah, I'm starting to think the same--that it will be more than 2%. But then again, people are already in an uproar over how expensive it's gotten to get a Rubicon.
I guess we will see soon enough (mid Nov is what I was told). I will need to decide in the next month whether to place my order on a 392 on a '21 or roll the dice on a '22

If you make a late order now and it’s rolled over into a 22 they will probably honor the 21 price. At least there’s a chance

If it makes it through the refresh it will probably make it as long as the MPG average can be countered with the hybrid and upcoming electric. It COULD last several years IMO
As much as they charge for the 392, they should throw-in a 4xe for free to help offset the CAFE.

I know most everyone says they charge too much for the 392 but consider it comes pretty much a loaded Rubicon which itself would be $63,000, then they add additional structure and technology in addition to the 392. So, it's like if there was a 392 package, it would be somewhere around $12,000 which isn't that much considering adding the Skytouch $2,000, half doors $4,400 and XR $4,000, adds up to $10,400 and no one much complains about that. No difference in the Hellcats, Demons, etc, etc. They are pricey and we all wish they were more affordable like in the 60's when a working man could walk in and order a Hemi or a 427, etc, etc. Time are vastly different.
