.........Specifically asked if he could confirm whether the 5.7 would be offered, like many have speculated. After a couple of days, he got back to me and said with certainty that Jeep will not offer the 5.7 in any of the models for '22.
Take that fwiw.
It also seems like we can expect the standard 2% price increase.

I’m impressed the dealer took your question seriously and followed up on it.

The 6.4L is already offered; it’s the 392.

I’m aware. My question is: Is it coming back for 2022?

Oh, I’m sure it is.

There’s no way FCA would go through the time, effort and expense to certify the engine on JL use for a production run of only a few months.

Agreed. I would say at a minimum until the mid cycle refresh. If it continues selling well maybe through 2023 but not much longer after that.

If it makes it through the refresh it will probably make it as long as the MPG average can be countered with the hybrid and upcoming electric. It COULD last several years IMO

The 392 isn't going anywhere.
I just wanted to post about the 5.7 b/c I've read a handful of posts where people were discussing rumors about the 5.7 being made an option for 2022.
That isn't happening.

That actually makes sense. I hope it lasts as long as possible. A dying breed nonetheless.

FCA is going to keep jacking up the price of the 392 to keep production low.

It doesn't want too many 392s dragging down its CAFE numbers.

They have to be making a killing on the 392, I think they will sell it until the government kills it with mileage constraints.
and they will! It’s just a matter of time
