Our first good look at the real jeep... and it's a homerun.
Definitely has more of an aggressive stance and look than the current dumpy looking JK. The flares really help....
Love it.

The front grill hour glass design looks odd and the black on the fenders makes them look thin.
That hourglass shape is what the grill of a jeep is supposed to look like! Now, the fenders should blend into the grill more like pre JK Jeeps like the CJs YJs and TJs imho.

Let's not forget that this is likely a $40k+ vehicle with an entirely different and wider rear axle, taller lift, bigger tires and taller fenders. I hope the sport looks good too, because there are no other choices besides those 2.

This has got to be planned... So many barely covered JLs running around. There won't be anything left to release at the auto show. Just trim pieces and wheels will be revealed...

Good point Motorman. Much like the current base JK Sport with the 16" wheels and tires.... while good looking it just doesn't have the same aggressive look as a Rubicon.

Looks like this is the OEM version of Bestop's new Trektop NX Glide.
Well, without the NX's severly angled rear end that many were initially fearing/hoping for.

It would be nice if those hinges were for true glass rear window like the Trektop Pro.

I'm wondering if they're concealing more tech- everyone expects the rear view camera, but what about a forward facing cam...?
Some of the mules had their grill tape come off... or was strategically cut, and it din't reveal tech behind it just empty space in front of the radiator. So additonal cooling... air intakes?

Front facing camera(s) has been discussed, but as either a trail cam or for collision avoidance / advanced braking systems it makes more sense for it to be integrated around the rear view mirror cluster / position rather than integrating it into the grill, especially on a vehicle like the Wrangler that get more than normal abuse and can change angle & ride height greatly.

I doubt it's for something as pedestrian as returning lights the grill for a design complaint that could be addressed by the aftermarket, but it seems even less likely for camera placement to either side rather than more effective locations.

I think the JLU, JL design team don't want to give $ to the "aftermarket" when they can incorporate those "wants" into Mopar add-ons. In other words, keep more of that profit in-house.

Modular lighting, HiLine fenders, wider axels as options/packages, these and more show Savvy marketing, and recognition that no matter how " perfect", there's always the demand for "more". The "factory" can now supply this at order time...

The changes that have occurred in essence are important but not visible to the eyes. These engineers are still doing amazing work.

This is very likely to be true, although nobody will buy overpriced Mopar parts when aftermarket will be undercutting the price

Those two-toned painted flares are magic. Thumbs up. I have no idea why people say the JK flares are better. The JK flares were ugly in 2007 and they're even uglier 11 years later. This JL is just right. They've hit a home run.
