I'm finding quite a bit of conflicting data on this. It sounds like the Rubicon guys are not having issue with the 35's on their stock carrier but what about Sport guys?

I ordered the RC relocation bracket but wonder if I'll even need it? Would it just be better to just install it anyways? To me I was okay if the tire sits on the bumper as that seems like it would provide extra support or do we think that's a bad idea long term?

I know mine would have fit just fine without it on 37’s. I do have the RC bracket. It might actually be better up against the bumper. I was just too lazy to take it off and try.

Yea it seems to be quite a difference Rubicon vs Sport.

Some Sport guys I hear mounting on the stock bracket. Some guys I hear putting slightly smaller tires than the 315/70's and having them barely fit. So I don't know.

I would say just try it without the bracket and if you need it just install it. I wil say the RC is probably the easiest to install. Literally like 5 minutes. Super easy.

Based on my experience this week with 285/75/17 ridge grapplers on Rubicon wheels the answer is yes - skyjacker is test fitting their relocation bracket on my Jeep this afternoon.

Yea, your fit is what got me thinking. I ordered the bracket.

My plan is I'm going to just leave it in my Jeep when I drop it off for the lift/tires and just let them know that if the spare doesn't fit there's a bracket if they need it. If they don't need it I can sell/return it but this way I'm at least covered if it doesn't fit.

Skyjacker put on their relocation bracket - no issues now, it will easily accommodate a 37” tire very happy.

You can also see the bottom support under the tire off the bracket which helps support heavier tires, may also need a re-inforcemnet bracket for bigger wheels/tires.

Main difference between the skyjacker and RC relocation bracket? Are ther other options out there (haven’t been able to find any)?

Is the support on the bottom of the Skyjacker actually helpful? Isn’t the weight still sitting on the carrier which is mounted to the tailgate?

Any other differences? Build quality? Installation difficulty? Etc?

Trying to decide which is better, I assume I need one of the two for 35” Ridge Grapplers on a JLU Sahara.

I’m gonna bring this thread back from the dead for a quick second here. ( My apologies ). But I wanna ask. Did you decide on a relocation bracket and if so which and how do you like it? I’ve been trying to find out if I need one for my Sahara ( I’m assuming I do for 285/75/18 Duratracs which measure at 35.1 ) But I cant find any reviews for anything!

also incredibly curious about this!
Welcome to the community!

A couple questions to help us help you:
What model wrangler do you have?

How do you intend on using your wrangler?

Is it lifted, and if not, is that part of the plan?

Are you looking to mount 35's on your factory wheels, or aftermarket?

Thank you @Headbarcode !! I apologize, yep I'm very new to the community, just bought my 2019 JLU Black Wrangler last weekend, I have already ordered a 3.5" JKS Lift with Fox Shocks and Falcon stabilizer + 35" tires on 17 Pro Comp hammer rims. (the reason I went with a 3.5" is I suspect I may jump to 37's in the future once I build the vehicle to handle it)

but for now, I am just mounting the 35" tire / aftermarket wheel on the back .

Thanks for the Q's !! I appreciate it.
