Spare tire hits bumper on Sahara?

I just upgraded wheels and tires on my Sahara to BFG KO2 315/70/17 and the spare hits the bumper. Is the factory carrier adjustable? If not what are the best options?

35s will rub on Sahara spare carrier. Rubicon spare carrier however can clear a 35.
You can go for an aftermarket option, or the mopar oversize spare tire mounting bracket.

You could also add a relocation bracket like this from Rough Country or several other manufacturers. It's a cheaper solution that'll allow you to reuse the original carrier.

Also, if you undo the two screws on the brake light mount, slide it up, and just use one screw to reattach it should give you enough room for the light to go back over the top of the tire. We did this to my original Sport carrier when I put the 285/70s on mine and have plenty of clearance over the tire for the brake light. 315's should fit under the light.

Believe it or not, the Rubicon carrier itself is slightly taller/deeper than the Sahara’s. And has created a lot of confusion around whether we can mount a 35 spare or not.
