I’m about to get some 35’s (ordered). Is it needed or a good idea to get the Mopar tailgate reinforcement kit?

The XR package comes with it so thinking it’s probably not a bad idea…

Thoughts or experience with a stock tailgate and 35” spare?

The size of the tire isn’t as important as the weight of the tire when determining the need for reinforcement. If the total weight of the tire and wheel is under 100 pounds or so, and is mounted properly, you shouldn’t need reinforcement.

Basically you don't typically need it, but I know for certain my tailgate reinforcement kit stiffened up my tailgate enough that I hear no noticeable tailgate noises. No comparison to like what I heard with a stock tailgate and the stock tire and wheel it came from the factory with.

I now have a 315/70R 17 mud terrain tires. The tailgate noise level remains unchanged at nothing noticeable to me.

Apparently the Mopar tailgate hinge reinforcement kit is on backorder. 82215356AB or AC.

Any other good ones out there?
