I was driving through some fire roads yesterday with the top and doors off. The car was in 4Hi. As I’m driving I hear the sound of a big release of pressure coming from the front passenger side - louder at first then gradually softer. I stop and check all the gauges - tires were fine, oil temp and pressure was fine, no warning lights on the dash. I start driving again and start to hear it again. I stop. Change from 4Hi to 2WD. Start driving again and no more noise. Five minutes later I put it back in 4Hi without issue. I haven’t had any issues since. I’m not sure I would have heard the noise at all had the top and doors been on.

Any ideas at all as to what might have happened?

Definitely a chance of that. Was going through some tall stuff. The AC was also running.

Possible the front axle breather was temporarily blocked/clogged?
