So a post like this probably doesn't show up on the forums too often and I'm not sure what triggered the guy, whether it was random or he was targeting Jeeps... but someone shot at my windows twice with a BB/pellet gun today. I didn't think much of it until I reviewed my dash cam footage and saw him pull out a pistol. Both times he shot, he hit the glass but it didn't crack or break. Kudos to my Wrangler! If anyone lives in San Jose, CA be careful of this guy. There's not many older gen silver BMW M6 convertibles out there with the Stevens Creek paper plate. If you see him or know him (by any chance) let me know via pm please. It was a female driver with a male in the driver's seat. At the second occurrence, they switched places, but both times it was the male that shot the gun.

Coincidentally, the guy shot at the side where my 3 year old would sit. Thankfully she wasn't in the car but I can't imagine what kind of dad rage would have ensued if she was there and he shattered the glass window over her head. Or even struck her... At this rate, I'm going to have to sell the Jeep. Without a plate I can't do a whole lot. Which is very unfortunate.

Never seen that car before. They were stopped in the middle of the road and not moving. I did go around them like anyone else would. There was no confrontation and I didn't think any more of it.

I filed a police report but they had paper plates on. I didn't get a good look at them and didn't even realize what was happening. I thought rocks were flying and hitting our car. There was construction near by.

Unfortunately, I live in the people's republic of California and there are no such luxuries here. Criminals are well-protected here and there's not much law abiding citizens can do.

Glad you are OK and there was no damage. This story is bizarre.

Maybe he stole the Jeep and now it's too risky to drive it? ;) j/k
Not sure I would agree with CA being "soft on criminals". LAPD is particularly famous for shooting first, asking questions later when guns are evolved.
Definitely sounds like there is a major part of the plot being left out here.

    Just as an fyi....

At the end of 2016, states had about 1,316,205 incarcerated, while the federal system had a total of 189,192.

There's significant differences in incarceration rates across states as well. California has the 18th lowest incarceration rate in the country, with a rate of 331 per 100,000 people sentenced to a year or more behind bars in 2016. That amounted to 120,340 people in state prisons.

Maine has the lowest rate with 137 per 100,000 sentenced criminals locked up. Louisiana has the highest rate at 760 people per 100,000.

    A BB gun?
Yeah, that's when you stop and completely ruin someone's day.

Or better yet, drive your jeep right onto the hood of that BMW and give the cops a ring.

Hello, I am currently parked on top of a BMW that was shooting a BB gun at my jeep.

    Scary situation.
I always carry a 9mm or 380 (both laser equipped) with me, usually both when heading to work, obviously if I could get away from the situation without killing somebody that would be what I would do, but if I saw a gun pointed at me and I am stuck in traffic I would do what I had to do to insure my own survival.
Be terrible to find out it was only a BB gun or paint ball gun.

I avoid most road rage situations at all costs, carrying a gun makes me think twice.
I'd rather look like I am backing down than have to deal with the possible repercussions.

I am glad you are OK.

So it was a female driver...with a male in the driver's seat? How does that exactly work...
